Attack on Titan: Junior High ED - Hangeki no Daichi

Everybody can talk about how the main AOT endings foreshadow a bunch of stuff within the story, but I still think back to how adorable the Jr High ending is, not to mention Eren, Jean and Mikasa sing in this.

Don’t you just want to fit them all into your pockets? ^^

Attack on Titan:

"Listen up, cadets! In five minutes, Commander of the Survey Corps, Erwin Smith, will be coming to check your Omni-Directional Maneuver Gears, swords and gas tanks for the weekly equipment check!"

Everyone saluted to Keith Shadis' command as they anxiously awaited the arrival of Erwin Smith. You smoothened your uniform, moving your long hair out of the way as you quickly tied it up. Sure, you've always had headaches whenever you wore your hair up, but you don't want Commander Erwin to think that you're being lousy by being visually untidy! And maybe— just maybe, your neatness will catch his attention. Argh, step out of your reveries of your crush on the commander, Y/n!

Arranging your gear, you gulped. This was more nerve-wracking than actual combat drills. Suddenly, the commotion at the entrance caught your attention. Erwin Smith stood there, as if sculpted out of gold itself. He's so attractive. A Greek god! Those oceanic blue eyes, that blonde hue of his hair, those muscles straining against his uniform, everything is so mesmerizing. God, you're gushing over a man atleast ten years older than you like a teen in love, despite being twenty-two!

"Please, please, please... let him check my gear and find no errors, please please..." You muttered to yourself, repeating this mantra again and again.

During this, you forgot to notice how Erwin's icy blue eyes singled you out within seconds, fixating on you as if he's done this before hundreds of times. Then, he smirked slightly. Just a small upturn of his lips, not going unnoticed by Levi at his side, who clicked his tongue and sighed. You didn't know why.

As Erwin checked the gears of those before you, you found yourself noticing that he was checking them rather... roughly. Just a glance or two. And then, he stopped in front of you. His towering form casted a big shadow over your more petite frame as you craned your head back to look at him.

"C-Commander!" You saluted, your cheeks flushing pink unnoticeably Erwin noticed.

"Cadet L/n. Good to see you in such high spirits," his rich voice chuckled, his larger, calloused hand grasping the ODM Gear from your softer ones. "Let's see..."

His eyes examined your gear with extra detail, noting every single thing. "That's a very good girl. I mean, you've been a very good and diligient soldier. However, I am disappointed that your gas tanks are not the newest edition. We released a new version last month."

"Oh," you softly exhaled, keeping the ODM Gear away. "Then—"

"Everyone except Cadet L/n, disperse!" Erwin's command echoed throughout the common hall, making everyone exit like a gust of wind. Until only you both remained.

"Cadet L/n, or shall I say, Y/n. Come with me to my personal office. I will give you the gas tanks myself," Erwin spoke as he led you through the halls.

As you walked, you couldn't help but notice his gaze drift back towards you again and again.

"Commander, is there something on my face?"

"No. I see you have worn your hair up today. Why?"

"Oh, that! I just felt like it."

"I doubt that. You've been wearing your hair down for the past sixty-five days and before that, you wore your hair up only five times. During expeditions, your hair is in a bun," Erwin casually recounted, his ethereal eyes glinting with an oddly mysterious shine as he chuckled, "was it to impress me?"

"No! I— I could never. Plus, how could you remember everything so nicely?"

"I just observe a lot," his smoldering gaze locked onto you, "we're here, Y/n."

As he led you inside, you noticed the beautiful yet minimalistic decor of his office. The sunlight filtering inside was at such a perfect angle! In all this, you never noticed when Erwin locked the door behind him.

"Turn around, cadet."

You did so. Atleast, this way he wouldn't notice your blush! His larger hands ran up your back, leaving a trail of electricity in their wake. They grabbed your harness, fixing it over your body it was already perfect before. His fingers trailed up your neck and looped around the hair tie, removing it to let your locks flow down.

"That's better," he muttered. "Y/n. If I ask you something, will you answer?"

"Yes, Commander!" You instantly responded.

"How did you get this bruise?" His fingers brushed over a bruise on your collarbone, his voice low and intense.

"Oh, that. I got it during hand-to-hand combat training," you turned around and beamed, expecting to see him proud of your efforts, but you were met with the eyes of an unreadable Erwin.

"Who was your partner?"

"Erm, I was training with Captain Levi's teammates."

"I asked for a name."

"Gunther, sir. Gunther Schultz, to be exact."

"I see," Erwin handed you some new gas tanks, helping you attach them to your ODM Gear, "there you go. Maintain them properly and try not to waste the gas."

"Thank you, sir!" you smiled at him.

"In return, you must promise to be more careful during training. No more bruises, no more scarring on your body," his fingers gripped your chin, tilting it up to meet your eyes. "Do we have an understanding, Y/n? I just care about you very much."

"Yes, sir!"

"Good girl. Now, off you go."

You saluted and ran off, a mixture of feelings in your heart. Happiness for receiving your new gear, excitement for the break time and a teeny bit of giddiness for being in such close proximity with Erwin.

As you exited, Erwin reached for a cigar, lighting it up and keeping it between his lips. His free hand reached for the record of Survey Corps members, eyes searching for a specific name. Gunther. He called Levi to give him an order. "Levi, bring Gunther Schultz to my office by tonight."

"Erwin. Should I be worried about something?" Levi asked with a deadpan face, running a hand through his hair.

"No."

"I'll trust you in this, then. Tch."

As Levi exited, Erwin stretched idly, playing with his bolo tie as he exhaled the cigar smoke, his hand moving to grab the hair tie he had discreetly kept while fixing your hair. Tucking it away into his coat, he chuckled to himself, shaking his head.

"New gas tanks, huh, Erwin? You're absolutely insane for Y/n. What did you even call her for, when no such new edition was ever released? Just to see her face. I'm down bad."

SCOUT HEADCANNONS !

📖 S Y N O P S I S : Enjoy my ramblings of the Scouts. Isayama was honestly cooking with their character designs and I am STILL pissed that they're all dead. I N C L U D E S : Vet Trio + OG Levi Squad, Nifa, Miche, Nanaba and Gelgar !

SCENTS 🌷

--- Since I found out Nanaba is apparently the best smelling of the Scouts (according to Miche at least), been thinking of how the others smell (is that weird??).

--- SMELL GOOD NATURALLY - Nifa, Petra, Eld and Erwin --- SMELL GOOD ARTIFICIALLY - Levi, Moblit, Oruo, Gelgar --- OTHERS - Hange canonically doesn't take baths unless Levi forces them so they kinda stink 💀. I imagine Gunther doesn't have any particular smell. He doesn't stink like shit, but he isn't all flowers either.

---Sort of an attachment to the last one, but Nifa probably smells like flowers, or something floral. Petra smells 'sweet' somehow, Eld has the sort of smell that'd be strangely comforting, and Erwin smells like whatever soap he uses.

--- Levi uses a somewhat intense amount of cologne (gurl same), Moblit smells woodsy (almost all the Scouts have a sort of woodsy smell, Moblit just smells the best and is most prominent), with some charcoal mixed in because of his drawings. Oruo and Gelgar use some type of perfume, though sparingly.

Hange smells like shit, but also has a unique 'burning' scent. They're a scientist, and I imagine aside from titan traps and experiments, they'll be working with a lot of chemicals too.

ACADEMICS 📖

--- Based on academics, Hange's squad no doubt places first. To be more specific, here's ranking overall : Hange, Erwin, Moblit, Nifa, Miche, Oruo, Gelgar, Eld, Levi, then Gunther. Gunther's not dumb, just not as smart as everyone else.

--- Levi placing second to last I imagine is just because of his upbringing. Oruo, Gelgar and Eld received formal educations, so their knowledge in overall topics is better. In a modern AU, Levi would be more studious given he actually has the opportunity to be, and would place right below Nifa.

--- Hange of course loves Biology the most. Erwin is just that one smart, popular kid at school. Moblit is good at mostly everything, but favors Geology, he hates Math and Chem tho lmao. Nifa on the other hand loves Chem, and has dabbled in some Psychology books. Definitely psychoanalyzes people a bit. Maybe Moblit too though he's a bit more embarrassed about it.

HOBBIES 🌷

--- Hange, aside from reading and studying, likes to make little contraptions, they don't really do anything, but are cute and displayed at their office.

--- Levi ofc cleans, but picked up reading and writing after becoming a scout. Reading is a secret past time of his, and his favorite genre is probably nonfiction. I can see him reading a little, grounded fantasy (like ASOIAF), but not romance or YA. Very obscure books too, but it's not always on purpose, he just chooses the book with the most interesting summary to him. He is adored by librarians.

--- Erwin reads too, big surprise. As a kid, he favored textbooks instead of usual literature, and aside from reading, he plays piano. Not very often though, and though he's good, it's not exactly his passion.

--- Moblit, aside from drawing, loves to paint and write. I imagine him to be very much of an artsy kid, but science is more of his passion. If it weren't, he'd be a painter.

--- Nifa writes poems, and is a bit of a hopeless romantic. She's also very much a reader, though unlike Levi, her tastes are more fantasy and romance. Knights, soulmates, etc., etc., that's her jam.

--- Nanaba wood chops. Idk why, but i can just imagine her chopping wood as a way to destress. Before and after a mission. It's her own little stress reliever. Gelgar might come and pick on her a bit about it while gathering the wood himself.

MISC 🌷

- Based on that one panel, Nifa, Gelgar, Nanaba, Petra, Oruo, Eld and Gunther all joined the Scouts after the fall.

Gelgar joined a couple months after (THE FALL), same batch as Eld and Gunther but not the same Cadet Corps division.

Nifa came a couple months after that, then came Petra and Oruo. - Nifa became best friends with Ilse after joining with her (Ilse) joining couple months before the Fall.

Levi likes Nifa and Petra the most during cleaning. Everyone of course is expected to clean thoroughly, but the two girls clean better than most, and Nifa is always getting fragrant plants or herbs from her folks that she leaves around.

Friendly yet stern reminder that Oluo Bozado was the last man standing in his squad, and the few last moments he had with them he had to endure witnessing their deaths before he got brutally murdered himself.
