I have to post this every now and then purely due to the video.

I know it's already been said a million time before but it's the truth. Just look at the vibe and atmosphere in this video (it was filmed at Town & Country Club/Roundhouse, on a real club night). Nothing gets even remotely close to this anymore. Those were truly special times, and if you were lucky enough to have experienced them you are so so lucky.

Way Out West's home? Well, the label they cashed their checks from, Deconstruction Records, was considered by DJ Magazine to be a place that married underground sensibility with pop. This does make some sense as we will see in the examples I shall mention. For instance, Guru Josh was signed to the company and his tune does feel like something that would've been on a rotation in a squat, yet the song actually became quite popular. Unsurprisingly, he reminds me of the KLF on this hit song of his, because there's a certain we-don't-care-oh-this-works vibe present, though he sadly didn't further that one that much. Then again, I said this so many times in my recent discussions – the 90's electronic dance music didn't build their outfits for longevity.
