I love Guy smmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!! I would like more Guy lore and info if you have any to spare for a poor beggar anon like moi 🙏🥹. Anyways, I was wondering, do most of your replies come from thoughts you’ve previously had about your characters, or do you craft it a little while after you received the ask. Essentially, what I’m trying to say is: do asks help you with your design and writing for the characters or was most of their info already predetermined and thought up.

It makes me happy to see people enjoy Guy! I'm always happy to share more information about my characters :D 

I'll try to not go too into spoilers because Guy's backstory is probably one of the more interesting ones out of my VN characters. Also, I'm still workshopping things so things might be edited/changed in the full game. If there is anything specific you want to know, I'll always do my best to answer! >_<

Guy doesn't have any siblings and he never really talks about his family. Despite his rough personality, he does have a decent group of acquaintances. Guy is an artist at his core. He even has a degree in fine arts and is quite passionate about painting. This led to him finding connections in local art circles with other creatives. Guy doesn't like to sell his art, so he often will trade it for other cool stuff. 

He's very blunt. I wouldn't call him overly honest but he doesn't enjoy lying unless he doesn't care if the other person knows he's lying. Guy hates being controlled and values his personal freedom above most things. He tends to measure things often in cost (not just monetarily).

Guy is very hot and cold. He's hard to figure out and tends to act recklessly. Usually he hates getting to know new people. He's very unpersonable, but he did become attached to MC seemingly out of nowhere. They met at MC's previous job.

Some random facts that I may have mentioned before: Guy's hair is dyed and his natural color is a dark purple, he loves messy food, he owns a very expensive car but is horrible at driving, he loves horror.

Also, despite his moody appearance, Guy has a big sense of humor and loves to laugh. It's probably one of my favorite things about writing him! I'm not sure how funny other people will find him though >_<

About the asks, it is a bit of a mix of both. When it comes to Devyn, I'm more likely to have already thought of things and can more easily answer. I did already have some basic information about Cole & Guy written (like the stuff behind Guy's name and family situation), but for most of the questions I need to really think things over. That's part of why I do really appreciate all the asks I get because it helps me figure out the characters and find different aspects to them I wouldn't have considered on my own.

I have a bad habit of thinking of my characters as if they are specifically locked in their current story/setting. I'm not the type of writer who pre-plans much, so things often only come up if someone directly asks or if it's important to the story I've already written ">_>

23.) Who are five of your favorite bands/musical artists

As someone who listens to a lot of music but has a habit of genre hopping, this was a real hard one to answer.

 1) The Cure.

It was my partner that really turned me on to The Cure so they’ve always been a sort of musical backdrop to our relationship, and being the first performance I’ve seen at a festival maybe colouring my perception a tad. But to me, The Cure radiates such an energy of perfectionism mixed with chaos that they are the only band who I think could cross the border between Goth and Pop in the way they do. Also the hair.

 2). Queen.

So as the original only gay in the village, its no surpise I like Queen. Being brought up from a rock/punk parent exposed me to old Brit Rock. Under Pressure was the first vinyl I really played, reading Good Omens did not help, plus I mean they’re Queen.

 3.) Florence + The Machine.

I first heard Florence through Dragon Age II, which alongsides its previous entry I blazed through in a Summer break. From there it was always a consistent background feature. Until I went to see her live in Glasgow, the energy in that room was something I have never before, and haven't experienced soon. It, like all of Florence’s work, was incredibly raw and intimate.

 4.) System of a Down/Serj Tankian

The message in System and Serj’s solo work are so strong in all his work, and they’re views I agree with on a Religious and Political perspective. “ (I have)the same religion as that tree over there...”

5.) Placebo.

Placebo is like a baby Cure, hence the name. They hold a speical place in my heart due to Brian being from Dundee, my local city and being Bisexual and Genderly androgynous. His songs about being an Outsider, always hold a special place.

 A.) New Zealand.

Two of my most cherished Friends live in New Zealand, people who I love with so much of my heart. Being on the other side of the globe from them however, means that I don’t get a chance to talk to them as much. So my first goal is to go and hug them.

 B.) Japan.

As a culture, Japan is so interesting to me. The countryside, the city, everything is so different from what I know that it’s always been on my bucket list to go and experience it.

 C.) Finland.

Again, being a Highlander myself I love the beauty of the Countryside, and Finland has always stuck out to me as unique in its Northern beauties. Somewhere similar to home but unique enough to be fun.26. What’s your favorite season? Autumn. Maybe it’s the Goth in me but something about the transitionary period of Autumn (Fall) makes me so happy. It’s warm but not in the way Summer is where it's overbearing, but instead a manmade warmth of Hot Chocolate, and watching films. Meanwhile it’s cold, but not ear biting Winter cold, instead just enough to create that warmth but still have fun outside. 45. What’s the worst date you’ve ever been on? I haven't been on many dates, but the worst was probably when I was chased by a Gang. Going to hang out with my Girlfriend of the time, her cousin showed up and... he wasn't the most reputable person, he ended up getting in conflict with another local boy (They were in a bad area) and before I knew it I was being chased down by some seriously aggressive young men. They cornered me in a shop, demanded I tell them where he lived (I didn't know, they didn't believe me) held me against a wall and threatened me before an Adult I knew stepped in. Worst part was I went to School with them, so this spilled out over the next year.0/10 would not do again.50. What’s your favorite kind of weather? Petrichor would be the best description. The smell of Rain Water after it has hit soil. So basically the time just after it has rained. It’s nice, and calming. After the Heavens close being around nature as it continues to grow is a lovely feeling. Slight wetness on your shoes, and the freshness of the scenario is lovely.

This might be a little silly to ask but... is Guy's name actually Guy, or is it more of a nickname that MC uses for him? Because if someone told me that their name is literally "Guy", I would just assume that they're messing with me...😅

Extra question; Does he have a canon height/age?

Not silly at all! I was just thinking the other day about how I haven't ever explained the reasoning for Guy's name… >_<

"Guy" is in fact just a nickname that MC started calling him when they met. His name is literally saved in their phone as "That Guy". Despite knowing each other for over a year, MC doesn't actually know his name. He never willingly tells his name to anyone.

MC started calling him Guy randomly since they had to call him something, and it sorta just stuck. He now loves being called Guy and sees it as a cute pet name almost (not the most romantic but guy takes what he can get). I feel at this point he would be a little sad if they called him by another name.

Also, you will find out the name his other acquaintances call him in the full game, but knowing his actual legal name will probably be reserved for his route specifically.

Guy is 30 years old and 6'2 :D

Is the way Guy talks based off of you? Are there any characters based off of you/have similar characteristics to you?

Hmm... It's hard to avoid not giving some of my speech mannerisms to my characters. I actually wasn't using emoticons very much recently until I started writing stuff for Guy. I forgot how fun they are compared to basic emojis. I tend to not use either very often IRL >_<

I did give Guy a certain version of my sense of humor. I can't really write comedy outside of what I personally think is funny, so he is cursed to make the kind of jokes I think of. I guess that effects how he talks.

I like my characters to feel natural and somewhat realistic, so it's easiest to add some traits I find relatable. I find it really hard to write for characters that I can't understand at all. I do try my best to make them all distinct and have their own traits too. I add in things I like about other characters to their personalities.

I also try hard to think about how their backstories make them into the individuals they are today. All of their lives are completely different from my own (thank goodness... except Cole, I'd take his) >_>

Feel free to ignore any if they contain spoilers. Also, I know you said "it's okay to ask questions" but I'm still going to apologize, as it is hard for me to shut up. So, sorry for hammering you with questions.

Anyways, is Guy famous/known? Does paparazzi follow Guy or his father? Have we met Guy before? How did we meet Guy?

You can if you want, but there really is no need to apologize! Getting questions on these blogs really brightens my day. It's so nice to know people care about the things I create :D

Guy isn't really too famous. He might be well known in some niche art circles and very vaguely known in some high society stuff. So, no paparazzi for him. His father though… That's a different story. Guy likes to be a little more on the mysterious side. Some of this will be explained in the next part of the demo.

MC has met Guy on several occasions over the past year or two. I'm still working on the exact details on how they first met, but at least some of their later meetings were because of MC's last job.

I'm hoping to let the player have some control over their past with Guy. So some things might be totally up to player choice! I'd like it to be a player option on what exactly MC's previous occupation was. It would be fun if it affected MC's skills too! (I'm just thinking out loud here now lol)

Thanks again for the questions! Hopefully this information was interesting. Sometimes I get asked stuff I wouldn't have thought about at all, so it really helps me figure out the world and characters more ^-^

Ok so we know what Devyn and Cole are like when it comes to a flirty MC + flirting with MC, but what about Guy? Does he have any game...or is he like Devyn? Would he react well to MC's flirting attempts?

Guy loves flirting with MC like Cole does, but he also becomes a bit of a blubbering mess when MC flirts with him similarly to Devyn (though maybe not as much). It’s a bit of a weird contradiction, but that’s not unusual for Guy lol

Guy is never one to hide his feelings on something but he often deflects by using exaggerated speech when talking. I would definitely not call him relationship savvy… so despite his usual bravado, I’m not sure I’d say he “has game”. Though sometimes it’s hard to judge my own writing in that aspect.

It really depends on what kind of flirt MC is. Someone who likes a more witty banter would work well with Guy’s style of flirting. But someone with a more honest/earnest flirting approach? His heart would probably fly out of his chest >w<
