So when the singer-guitarist headlines the fourth annual Israeli Jazz & World Music Festival, which runs Thursday through June 2, his personal narrative will reflect the nature and purpose of this remarkable event — to show the deep (though not obvious) links between roots music made in America and its offshoots on the other side of the world.

Buddy Guy w/Guy King at Legends 1/5/12

I love Buddy more than 99.9% of my relatives and that's the truth.

My brother (who is a huge blues fan - and music fan in general) took me to my first January Buddy show at the old Legends about 10 or so years ago. Since then I go to probably 3-4 January shows a year; none of us ever walk out unsatisfied. (Of course it probably helps that the whole place has been drinking there for 12 hours trying to squat a table). 

Guy King opened this show…He's a hell of a musician and when he brings the band he completely owns the room. Catch him when he is in town.

And I don't have to tell you catch Buddy, too…;)
