Not Just a Dream: Oliver & Thea
The next morning Thea awoke to half unpacked bedroom and vague memories of a ghost. A ghost? What a weird dream! Thea shook her head as she uncovered her legs and headed to her bathroom to change. She sighed as she looked in the full length mirror on the back of the door. A prep school again. Why couldn't her parents just ever send her to a normal school? She hated these preparatory schools. The students were always so stuck up and they never understood why Thea didn't play their games.
"Thea!" Her mother called from downstairs shaking Thea from her negative outlook, "You don't want to be late for your first day." Actually, the eighteen-year-old didn't really care if she was late or not, she was going to be the talk of the elite school no matter when she showed up. She might as well make an entrance, right? "Thea!"
"I'm coming! I'm coming!" She called with a sigh as she pulled open the bathroom door. She grabbed her backpack off the top of the boxes piled by the door and made her way to her bedroom door. As she turned back to close the door, she froze staring, but not really seeing anything. Memories of her weird dream, the handsome ghost man, flooded her as she looked at the empty room.
"Thea!" Her mother shouted again, her voice closer then before. The young girl jumped, startled out of her daze rudely. She shook her hea, disappointed in herself for being so distracted by a mere dream. Ghosts, how ridiculous!
By the end of the school day, Thea hadn't forgotten her nocturnal imaginings as she had hoped. Oh no, it's impossible to forget something that keeps coming up in conversation. For her first two classes everyone treated her like she was an ill alien and they didn't want to risk exposure. By third period though everyone was telling her that they were the first Queens to live in that house in forever! Or, and this was most frequent, was she unnerved to be living in a haunted house? Had she met any ghosts yet? She had laughed all of the inquiries off, of course, and held her head high as she dealt with being the shiny new toy.
As she arrived home once more, waving her driver goodbye as she opened the front door. "Mom?" She called, as she stepped into the foyer and closed the door, "Dad? Anyone here?" There was no response...and if she was being honest with the herself, she hadn't expected one. She made her way into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water befor heading up to her room.
Thea opened the door and dropped her bag onto her floor. She tossed the unopened bottle of water on her bed, before grabbing her pajamas and going into the bathroom to change again. She stripped off her stupid white blouse, plaid skirt, and knee-high socks and slipped into her cloud pajamas yet again. She placed her clothes in the hamper and turned the knob to open the door once more. "Holy hell!" She exclaimed in shock as she came face-to-face with the man literally from dreams. "Not a dream." She said as she took a step back before she stepped around him into the main room. "Oliver, hi, how was your day?"
