WIP WEDNESDAY
I'm working on a collection of sentence-fics, inspired by the prompts from 1Sentence on Livejournal. The collection is Moiraine-centric, with lots of romantic Moiraine/Siuan and platonic Moiraine/Lan. I've got about 130 out of 250 done at the moment. Here's a quick sampling.
α :: Comfort :: “I’m here,” Lan reassures her, and later Siuan will whisper the same thing – strange how they both seem to know what words will bring Moiraine the most comfort.
α :: Rain :: They get caught in a downpour while relaxing in the gardens, and by the time they make it inside, their clothes are completely soaked through; Moiraine tries very hard not to notice the way Siuan’s dress clings to her curves – or the way Siuan’s eyes linger on her.
β :: Jousting :: The other novices sometimes drag Moiraine and Siuan along when they go out to watch the Warder apprentices sparring; Moiraine has little more than a vague appreciation for the young men, but one of them soon takes an interest in her – which is flattering, certainly, and makes the other novices giggle, but Moiraine is more amused by Siuan, who looks ready to pick up a staff and beat the poor boy senseless.
γ :: Candle :: Candlelight fills the room, its soft light reflected in Siuan’s eyes, and Moiraine has never seen anything more beautiful than this.
δ :: Hollow :: Her entire body is hollow, only empty space where there was once life, and power, and connection; what’s worse is she can still sense the Source, still sense Lan’s bond, but they are elusive, out of her reach, and there is nothing she can do, nothing to fill the void that now threatens to swallow her.
WIP WEDNESDAY
Here are some more samples from my sentence-fic WIP. Previous posts here.
δ :: Old :: Barely into her forties, Moiraine is considered young by Aes Sedai standards, but looking after her companions from the Two Rivers – enduring their changeable, adolescent moods, all while keeping them from getting themselves killed – is enough to make her feel like a very old woman indeed.
δ :: Stable :: Siuan grumbles every time Moiraine drags her to the stables, because nothing will convince her that spending her free afternoons around horses is any kind of enjoyable, but Moiraine always ends up disheveled and smiling, and that alone makes it worth it – though Siuan will personally strangle anyone who tries to say a word about it.
α :: Happiness :: Moiraine can’t help but smile as Lan’s happiness floods the bond – first, the familiar joy of being reunited with his family, and later, the relatively new delight in being around the Wisdom – and she lets herself bask in the feeling for a while, trying to drown out her own melancholy.
α :: Technology :: Siuan learns of the twin ter’angreal a little less than a year after being raised to the Seat, and knows immediately how she wants to use them; it is not at all befitting of her position to use ancient items of power to arrange clandestine encounters with her lover, and Moiraine points this out to her at least once, but Siuan argues that this is a perk of being Amyrlin, and neither of them is inclined to think on it further.
β :: Sordid :: People tend to make certain assumptions when they see her and Lan, but Moiraine no longer gives it much thought; let them stare if they wish, let them gossip amongst themselves, let them think they see something that does not exist, for their opinions change nothing, and Moiraine is long past the point of caring.

Before the show premieres on Friday, I wanted to share a collection of Moiraine/Siuan sentences I wrote back in 2008. Possible spoilers through Knife of Dreams.
(oh god this is so old. i was only 18 when i wrote this. also, it was for a livejournal challenge. yes, you heard me correctly. and if you don't know what livejournal was... i feel old now.)
