Some sappy drabble about what this art means to me under the cut

2017 has been a fun and interesting time for me, highlighted by my first real foray in to role-playing (I’ve made characters in the past but never really written them).

My adventures in RP have been punctuated and facilitated by the loving crowd of friends of the @dufresne-bellworks (seriously everyone of these folks are wholesome as heck), namely the ever-present and wonderfully kind @rose-in-the-stone / @gwenneth-in-wonderland who puts so much positive energy in to the FC as well as Gwen’s IC journey.

The scene drawn above is one of those bits of storytelling I wrote that I know will carry me and my character forward for a long time, as an exceptionally poignant and emotional moment in Aedos’s development. Gwen is such an inspiration and a delight to get to write alongside with, when I get the chance. So here’s an early Merry Christmas from me to her and to everyone of you role-players, no matter what fandom, to go out there and enjoy yourselves in making fond memories together!

Omg what if...

Merlin took care of problems himself instead of going to the Great Dragon at every single minor fucking convenience? Here are a few things that would happen:

Mordrid would have grown up idolizing Merlin, not mistrusting him

Merlin would not have been on the fence about protecting Mordrid AT ALL

This "on the fence" mentality is actually really what turned Mordrid against Merlin. If Merlin had swayed one way or the other, Mordrid would either be dead (and Arthur would be safe and Morgana wouldn't have had Mordrid's help, and would never have found out Merlin's identity as Emrys) or he would be alive and completely trusting of Merlin (and Arthur would be safe and Morgana wouldn't have had Mordrid's help, and would never have found out about Merlin's identity as Emrys) (Mordrid might even have been a spy for Arthur so...)

Also Arthur wouldn't have died at the end

Those magical beings Arthur and Merlin tried to make a deal with in like s4 or 5? And Arthur asked Merlin "should magic be allowed in Camelot?" and Merlin thought back to what the Great Asshat said and instead of saying "hells yeah!" he said "aw fuck naw magic has no place in Camelot" and it was all a test? And their plan got fucked up?? But like if Merlin had never had that conversation with the dragon then he would have jumped at the chance? And then Merlin could have told Arthur about his magic so much sooner?? And avoided so much pain??? Like??????

And yeah there's more but this is all for now

Merlin just needs to think for himself sometimes tbh smh

Letter to Azette Sejois

Righteous Inquisitor Sejois,

        I have recently learnt of a sect of criminals whom hold aggression toward the Dufresne Bellworks. Being a member of the Bellworks’ security regiment, I am seeking a cessation to the actions of the aforementioned sect. I would be most thankful to hear any further information you have to offer on the whereabouts or a more detailed nature of these criminals’ activities.

I have been informed of a certain ‘history’ that is shared between this band of miscreants and the Dufresne Bellworks. It seems we, the Bellworks, or more specifically, Hyrtwyda Eyhafrynwyn, and Gwenneth Gilrouis, managed to disrupt the criminals’ operations somewhat, drawing their ire. I would know more of the scoundrels’ motives if you have evidence to their operations or objectives. It is not an unwise idea to attempt to bait them in to a confrontation where we may hold the ‘upper hand’ in negotiations, so to speak.

Screens from a Bellworks contract. This time Aedos agreed to lead a scouting party and report a potential route for supplies to be taken through Mor Dhona, linking Ishgard to Ul’dah.

Thanks so much to everyone I got to RP with, I hope you all got something out of it as well. This will definitely be a formative and fond memory for Aedos for many, many years :)
