☆°What a strange tradition.
Then again, who was Tilly to judge on strange things? She watched in wonder as students gathered around a huge bin of sandwiches that Tome had brought out for them. Apparently there was some sort of magical ‘egg-wich’ they were all seeking. One after another, each student tried and each student failed.
Her big brighter figure, Kyle, watched from a relatively far distance as he stocked up other things in the room. As the two made eye-contact, he began to sign to her; the two having a silent conversation from across the room.
‘Tilly, why don’t you give it a try?’
‘But they all seem to really want it. If I win, I’ll feel bad.’
‘They can always try again tomorrow. It’s not like you don’t deserve to play too.’
After a moment of hesitation, the girl shrugged and gave a grin. Sure, why not? What was the worst thing that could happen? She’d get a ‘yucky’ sandwich, apparently. Most of the other students didn’t seem very satisfied with their winnings. Others seemed content enough. As Tilly stepped up to the bin, she could recognize a few other faces around her. Sure she didn’t know them by name, but she’d seen the Slifer red next to her around the dorm room on and off over the last week.
Carefully, she pushed her hand down into the sandwiches, feeling around and poking at the fillings through the wrappers. Did that count as cheating? Considering how long all of the others were taking, probably not. Either way, she felt around until finally she came across a sandwich with something nice and squishy, yet somehow still firm in the middle. That felt an awful lot like eggy-texture.
She looked down at the sandwich in her hands, then back up at Kyle again. Should she open it here or--Oh, why not? With as much excitement as a kid opening presents on Christmas, she ripped the packaging open to reveal: The oh so magical Egg-wich!
“I did it!” She chimed out in excitement, running in place for a moment.
Though her glance soon fell upon the brunet boy beside her, curious about what sandwich he had in his hands.
“What’d you get?” She asked curiously. “If you want, we can go halfsies.”
He was in red, so that meant they could be friends, right? Most of the yellows and blues seemed to avoid her at every turn simply because of her blazer color. Not that that stopped Tilly from continuing to try, of course.°☆
