Sera couldn`t help but emit a loud gasp as one of her hands clapped over her mouth in a dramatic gesture. Taking a step back, she gave the girl her space to be able to perform her trick, Sera`s eyes widened as if enchanted by what she saw.

It took her a moment to find her voice again.

“Y-yes! That! That`s…awesome!” She gasped, trying to straighten out her posture and return to looking prim and proper.

“I mean, it`s…you`re very skilled.” Cheeks burned pink as Sera offered a polite smile.

“How do you go about learning something like that?”

☆°Sera’s reaction alone was enough to get Tilly grinning like an idiot. It wasn’t exactly a secret that she loved attention like that. Hence why she was a performer in the first place.

“I learned it in he circus!” She chimed cheerfully.

Bending backwards, the short girl found herself standing on her hands and walking forward on them. Luckily, she was smart enough to wear bike-shorts under her skirt... which was currently flipped completely upside-down.

“I lived in one for a really long time. But I’m taking a break to go to school and graduate.”

And once more she was on her feet, giving a little twirl and brushing her hand off on her skirt before offering one to Sera.

“I’m Tilly! What’s your name?”°☆

Faltering to find a reply for a moment, he just murmured out a short “sure” in response. At least he wouldn’t feel obligated to stay for too long and it wasn’t as though he had a dryer at home anyway, so this offer at least beat having to trek all the way back to his apartment to grab completely new clothes. Not to mention he could really use something to dry off his still soaked hair with. A look of concern crossed his face at the colourful parfait placed in front of them. Were that many colours ever meant to be seen in the one place together? He wasn’t so sure about it. In silence, he watched as the spoon was slid in front of him. Anything covered in that many rainbows was likely to be sickly sweet and he could already feel his stomach turn with uneasy about the supposed unnatural flavours. Ryuzaki was slow to pick up the spoon, looking as though he had absolutely no idea where to start with the dessert. Any time he raised the spoon to start on one section, he hesitated and changed his mind. “Is this thing all the same flavour? Wait, what does it even taste like?” For someone who had spent days at a time without food while growing up, he still managed to be picky on sweets as he wasn’t all to familiar with them.

☆°There really were lots of different colors! The ice cream itself was easy enough to judge the flavors of, but not the strange cream on the side. Therefore, Tilly took it upon herself to test each one and tell her new friend exactly what they were.

“Hmm... Lime. Mint. Vanilla... Cheese?” Well that was a strange turn around. Cream cheese she expected on desserts, but not actual cheese.

“And something I can’t place.. but it’s good!”

Not having grown up in Japan, she had no idea that the flavor she was now tasting was Taro.

“None of it’s overly sweet either. I got used to super sugary things from other places. The cheese is still pretty weird though.”

Seriously though, who put cheese on desserts?°☆

【ϟ】 There weren’t many days where Manjoume actually chose to hang around the main campus grounds after class instead of going straight back to his room. Then again, with his Ojamas as hyper active as they’d been lately, going back to a dorm full of riled up duel spirits really wasn’t the teen’s ideal way to kick off a weekend. The main entrance to the Academy was less than peaceful, but at least he didn’t have to deal with the constant chatter of monsters practically throwing a party right there in his own room.

So a bench just outside was where Manjoume had found himself, idly poking on his school-issued PDA as he browsed through his list of latest messages. Most of them were unimportant: a request for a duel from some first-year Red which he rejected, class reminders than he couldn’t have cared less about; some message from Judai of all people. If given the choice, he probably would’ve—

“—Hey!!” A sudden bump to his legs jarred Manjoume’s attention away from his PDA as someone underneath him have his coat a harsh tug. He recoiled, trying to force his way up only to be trapped in his spot by the girl and her grip on his jacket.

“Yeah, right! The only thing I’m gonna be telling you, is how close you are to being kicked over the nearest cliff!” he’d instantly snap, trying to force his way up again, “Now let go of me!”

☆°“Awww come on~” The small teen chimed out. “Just two minutes. That’s all this’ll take to--”

A loud screech from the blond teacher met her ears as the incredibly tall man made his way through the crowd of students. But when Tilly was nowhere to be found, he hurried on through.

“Where are you, you little--” He muttered out on his way past.

Hearing the stomping sound fading away, Tilly finally released the black fabric in her grasp, moving instead to sit herself on the bench beside the raven haired male.

“Boy, he’s an angry one!” She said with a laugh.

Then again, so was the student before her. As much as she wanted to ask his name, there was just one thing distracting her.

“How come you’re in black instead of the other colors?” Tilly asked, tilting her head to the side as though she were some sort of cartoon character rather than an actual person. “You look all dark and mysterious and cool! Is that allowed here?”

Truly, the girl should have been apologizing for her actions. Hiding under someone’s legs and yanking on their coat wasn’t exactly a polite or proper first meeting. °☆

He could feel one of his eyebrows quirk so high that he feared it might disappear into his hairline. This was… certainly a thing that was occurring. Switching gears, he slipped into his usual public persona, letting his head cock to one side as a smile spread over his lips, arms held in front of himself with the right clasping the left’s wrist.

“I… I see.” His tongue peeked out just enough for him to wet his lips before continuing, “Can’t say I’ve ever been called that before.”

It was only half-true–he was vaguely aware of how certain parties viewed him, mostly in connection to a certain malevolent spirit he’d rather not think about–but that was close enough for him.

The Westernized gesture threw him for the briefest instant before he fell right back into his old habits, offering up a shake as he nodded to her name.

“Bakura Ryou. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

☆°“Nice to me you Ba--” As she shook his hand tightly, she paused. “Wait... still getting used to the whole ‘honorific’ thing. Is it okay if I call you ‘Kura-Chan’?”

As she thought about it, one could almost see the wheels turning in her head. For the life of her, she couldn’t remember if ‘Chan’ was just used for girls and children, or if it was acceptable to use for friends too. And he was a friend now, right? They both liked spooky things, so they had to be friends! Once it seemed to have been decided, her brilliantly bright grin returned and she shook his hand almost too enthusiastically before letting it go.

“Trust me, the pleasure’s all mine! We should go on a ghost hunt together,” she call but chimed out. “Oh! Oh! Also, it’s my goal to get to all of the different themed cafes here in Japan. There’s a couple of spooky ones. We could go as friends!”

Needless to say, she was getting a bit ahead of herself here. She was simply excited to have a new friend. So much so, that she was nearly jogging in place. The tiny girl was filled to the brim with energy.

“I’d say my brother could come along too so you could meet him, but he only speaks sign language and that kinda leaves a lot of people feeling left out,” she admitted, almost too cheerfully.”°☆
