I don’t talk about my dog much on this blog, but Gynger is totally blind due to a combination of cataracts, glaucoma, and posterior uveitis so when she looks at you she doesn’t so much “look” at you as she does just kind of point her face in your general direction. Then she wanders off and bumps into the coffee table, because even after a year of being blind she still can’t remember where the furniture is.

Gynger recently went blind due to cataracts, but she still wants me to throw the toy for her. How will you find it, dog? How do you intend to find the toy you cannot see?

Spoiler alert: She doesn’t find it.

Disclaimer: Gynger has been socialized and trained to interact with rats since she was a puppy. Do not allow small animals around larger pets that do not have experience with them, or who have been bred specifically to kill small animals.
