Why I love this fic: This is probably my favorite fic, which is not something I say lightly. Everything about it is perfect. It’s from Harry’s perspective and when he starts figuring things out it’s just incredible. Draco rambles and is so nervous and neurotic, it’s so great. The characterization is unique, but I think it’s one of the most accurate to how they would be years after the war. They both grow so much and I just, ugh, it’s amazing.
Bucky doesn’t need sorry, though. Bucky needs compassion and friendship and a better haircut, so Steve grins at him, pulls the scissors from his hand.

It was never what Bucky wanted, the fight, not the way Steve did; Steve’s been battle hungry his whole life in a way he could never explain even to himself, this burning need to do right by people that ate at his insides when left unfulfilled.
