First time in H-Mart

I think I’m in love with this place

They had like

Everything

They had milkis and this big bottle of lychee juice

And I’ve never said this before but I love lychee like a lot like unreasonably addicted to lychee but they sell lychee stuff literally nowhere in my area

My sister cut me off of buying drinks because I ended up with like 10 different drinks in the cart in the span of 2 minutes (I love drinks, theyre my safe food for me who is a picky eater)

And for those wondering we went to the only h-mart in our area (an hour away) because I’m making dango this week and they had the stuff I needed for it

10/10, would move into this area just for the h-mart

lunch @ H-Mart

I’ve had meals at H-Mart several times. .. & every time, there’s at least 1 item from each food court restaurant that is sold out -.-” However, when I went yesterday, which was a weekday lunch @ 1230h, everything was available! Not that there were things I wanted to try but were not available during previous visits, it just seemed odd that diff items were sold out all the time. Did they just not make it? Who knows?

Anyway, I went for lunch there with Diane, where I also met her little one for the first time, Elysabelle. She’s long & cute, & her cheeks are chubby!!

Kimchi jjigae. This was not as spicy as I’d expected it to be, but it was tasty nonetheless. Kimchi, tofu, several pieces of the sliced rice cakes, pork, & Spam. It is served with a bowl of rice & a small side of kimchi. Towards the bottom of the stew, it got pretty salty. Diane only ate a little of the stew, & took a little bit of the rice, but I finished the rice ages ago, & was thus left with stew at the end. Really wished I had some more rice with it. ..

Seafood black bean noodles & fried chicken (kkan poong gi). I really like the black bean noodles so I recommended it, & Diane wanted to try it as well. They have 2 options: one is the regular (noodles with the pork/onion black bean sauce), & this one was the upgraded version where there were some seafood in it (shrimp & octopus). I personally prefer the regular one now that I’ve tried this. I’m a sucker for good ol’ classics. As for the kkan poong gi, this was not from the fried chicken booth, but rather the same restaurant as the black bean noodles. Instead of “whole chicken” pieces, this was like a popcorn chicken but with larger pieces of chicken haha perfect choice if you don’t want to nibble on bones. The sauce was slightly garlicy, but mostly spicy & sweet. It does have a tiny tinge of sourness, but barely noticeable. Very appetizing dish for sharing.

i recently got back from a trip and i start school tomorrow! in order not to “freak out”, i took a shower and changed my bedding 😌

On my walk today, I went to H-Mart to get some snacks, the alpha food. While I was walking around H-Mart and getting an obscene amount of potato chips, I took several pictures of things I Did Not Like™, and for your benefit, here they are.

Look at this. Some furry designed this. (ignore my hand making a cameo) Chester Cheetah has his fucking ass in the air.

Look me in the eyes and tell me that this doesn’t upset you viscerally. 

It gets worse.

There’s a lot to unpack here, but I’m just going to leave this at “fish sausage.”
