CHARACTER GRAPHICS : go h.ajins first ( top ) vs second ( bottom ) beauty store
at twenty five years old , go hajin discovers that her best friend is having an affair with her boyfriend . she’s heartbroken as her life falls apart around her —– she’s kicked to the curb , loses her home , gets chased && assaulted . she almost drowns [ ... ] enough things happen one after the other that it truly becomes the lowest part of her life .
however , it’s after that near drowning incident that knocks something inside of her . wiggles it around until something clicks . her life has purpose again . since she was a child , hajins passion has been makeup : wearing it , making it , putting it on others [ ... ] she comes up with a new goal . no longer is she content being a counter girl , she’s going to have her own place .
she opens her first store a little after turning twenty six . it’s small : a former corner market that had gone remodeled prior to her renting it && while it’s quite small , the money she’s worked to save isn’t quite enough so a loan needs to be taken out but she’s able to pay it back soon enough .
at twenty eight , she moves into her second store . while not large , it does have a bit more room && is in a better location . she takes inspiration from popular makeup stores && treats the merchandise more like jewelry or expensive bags && does not pack it in . through an archway is access to the cafe next door that hajin , herself , is a frequent customer at . it doesn't get nearly as much traffic as the larger brands do , but what she does get is more than enough to make a decent living .
