background
grew up disadvantaged, her parents are dirt poor, addicts who neglected their children and have been known to cause problems for the town police department.
lives in the rougher side of the trailer park
not uncommon to see noa take her brother away from the family trailer to keep him away from her parents
frequently has to call the police on her parents
or has to go bail her parents out of jail with the little money she can scrape together
she is more of a mother figure to her brother since she had to look out for him
was bullied in school for being dirt poor & for who her parents were
noa has worked as hard as she could her whole life to get her and her brother out of the trailer park and better their lives, she’s yet to achieve this.
she’s someone that no matter how hard she tries she can’t catch a break
couldn’t afford to go to university since she couldn't afford it & wasn’t granted a scholarship thanks to her parents sabotaging her application to make sure she was always around to wait on them, so noa works at the bookstore to try and soak up as much knowledge as she possibly can
despite the upbringing, noa is always the personification of sunshine. she's sweet, shy, kind and always looks to the brighter side of life. things couldn't get any worse, right?
intellectually gifted but never had the opportunity to put it to use. she feels stagnant in life.
with her positive outlook on life, noa can be naive in thinking that things will only get better or people are inherently good. she's yet to come to terms with this not being true. delulu party of one. it's all she's got to keep her from having a meltdown
