do you think.. it would be acceptable for me to make a post with a wishlist of scarves and maybe beanies under ten dollars? i’m a broke, unemployed muslim convert and i have only two scarves i can use for hijab- one is missing and one is rainbow (which is cute! and i like to be openly gay but... wearing a rainbow hijab publicly is rather anxiety-inducing to be honest, especially since i’m a new convert living near relatives who don’t know i’m gay or muslim). the beanies would be an alternative way to cover my head that would raise less questions; i’m living with parents who i fear would be unaccepting of my faith- they pressure me to share their beliefs.

i just... feel bad because i think others deserve help more than me. i know there are more urgent issues faced by others so... i don’t know if it’s alright for me to accept help. my primary concern is for those in more dire situations, of course!! i don’t know what to do because my faith is important to me but would accepting gifts like that be selfish?
