Is something my friend told me to make the news of a new Obsidian Fallout game hurt just a little less. Don't get it twisted, I don't want the game to be bad, but given how The Outer Worlds was I can't help but think the best the game could be is just okay. By all means, I am hoping it isn't just okay, but we'll just have to wait and see. I think having a ton of people laid off, then having your original IP sequel canned, then being told "hey work on this legacy IP" isn't going to foster an environment where the greatest work can be done. I don't think you can, regardless of how good the finished product ends up being, divorce this game from the circumstances of which its creation came about, but the solace of knowing the Bethesda writers won't be touching the series for the foreseeable future is somewhat comforting.
