Back then, Billy would’ve been the last person for Steve to trust. With the recent events of the upside down continuing to spread, there aren’t many people left to turn to. At least Billy was someone who was familiar to him.

Richie perked up at the words. It had been a boring day and he was feeling restless as he lit up a cigarette behind the school. His thoughts were tangling themselves into knots and he needed to do something. Distract himself. Asking Billy Hargrove what he was gonna do that weekend could have been dumb, he was likely to piss the guy off and get himself beaten up. But it was a good distraction.

When he had first met Billy a few weeks ago back when arrived at Hawkins, the guy’s attitude had reminded him of Henry back home. So he had kept his distance, keeping in mind that although Billy didn’t carry a knife around, he was just a lot bigger than Henry in general, and Richie wasn’t confident he could outrun him. And then, gradually, the likeness faded away. Henry had been hateful. Billy just seemed… angry. And Richie could understand angry.

No good ideas huh?

“Well…” He grinned, dark eyes glittering with mischief. “Bad ideas is what I do best. Anything in particular?”
