so I have read a couple of atla x hunger games fics before which gave me the inspo but essentially

the white lotus is hunkered down in omashu (district 13). zuko is there after ozai earned the "worst parent of the year" award, and the swt are there as well

basically what happened was in the swt district there was a riot and kya was killed by the peace keepers (who are led by the Dai Li) and then a few months later hakoda and some men left to join the resistance

queue the present and both katara and sokka are reaped for the games (in revenge against a military loss against district 13 that hakoda was identified in)

they go to the capital, go through training, develop a bit of a reputation (the capital loves siblings for the story) and voila they're in the games

I don't want to spoil too much of it but yeah I have to mentally prepare myself to write it because there's going to be so much angst jdbskdbe
