40. “Don’t let go” hug

Kiragi can’t believe his eyes, a big part of him really wants to, so bad he wants to believe that his father is here standing just a few feet from him, but not looking at him. He wants him to look this way, give him acknowledgement, welcome him with open arms. Those last memories he has of his Father, he wants to wash those last moments of running away and leaving his Father behind from his mind.

Kiragi can hardly stop himself as he drops his Yumi vision blurring with tears as he makes a dash for Takumi. He stumbles over his own feet once when its too hard for him to see, but he doesn’t stop until he’s pressing his face into Takumi’s back trying to hold himself back from openly sobbing into his shirt.

“Father!”

He’s unaware, but doesn’t care how hard his arms are squeezing around Takumi, he’s feeling so elated, because Takumi is real he’s right in front of him. This is no shadow of himself, this is the real deal, the same man that taught him the basics of archery and gave his life to let Kiragi flee.

Kiragi buries his face into his Father’s shirt more and laughs, “You’re here! ”
