I think everyone in my family has lost some sort of faith in me.
I don't agree with the whole Chick-Fil-A issue. To me, it's discrimination. Today, my grandmother made a point of telling me I should go support them on August 1st for some big thing their doing (I haven't been totally keeping up). I told her no. Well, not just no, but HELL no. Why would I jump on THIS band wagon?? I haven't on any of the other ones.
Then, I got into it with my grandfather. He starts throwing the Bible at me. Here is the holes in his logic. First off: I don't believe in the Bible. Second: I may not COMPLETELY agree with the gay life-style (Simply because it's not mine). But I'm not going to take away their rights to freedom. Isn't that what this country was based off of to begin with?
Freedom of religion. Freedom of Speech. Freedom to marry whoever you want to marry.
People have the right to do with their business what they would like to do. Whether they want to let black people, gay people, Asians in their restaurant. That is their decision. But that doesn't mean I have to support them. And somehow, my family disagrees with me. They think I am living in sin because I feel like gay people should have rights. When, quite honestly, from the gay people that I know, they don't really have much of a choice.
Some people are wired to LOVE chocolate. And I'm talking along the lines of the unhealthy-borederline-obsessed kind of love. Beyond what a love of chocolate should ever be. And then there is the gay community. They are wired to only like the same sex. I know of people who are disgusted by the opposite sex. They couldn't stand to be with the opposite sex if their life depended on it. So, what? If they MUST be straight, are they to spend the rest of their life in solitude and die alone? Yeah. Didn't think so. Who would ever wish that on any person? Oh. Right. I forget there are sick people out there.
But, that's my argument. So be it. If you don't agree then that's your opinion. I'm glad you have one. I suppose I have one foot in this band wagon if I'm sitting here writing about it...
