Some older HachIse posts : one two

Its summertime! Time for cute summer dates and long days together!! Or....maybe not. Hachi and Ise aren’t dating yet during Hachi’s last summer of high school, so, with that opportunity coming and passing, summers after that are filled with a bit more responsibility than usual.  I imagine Hachi going away, at least a little bit away, to college, and as a result, when the semester is over, everyone who loves him wants to see him. Ise feels bad asking for Hachi to isolate his time and give it all to him, so he doesn’t....but he missed his boyfriend too, and wants at least some time for himself.

But most of the things bothering Ise are just his anxieties getting in the way. Hachi is the best at telling when something is bothering Ise without Ise having to say a word, so he finds ways to optimize his time with him, while still attending to all the other people who want his time as well.

Usually what that entails is bringing Ise along to all of his other activities. He knows Ise often forgets how many people love him, especially his little brothers and family.  Most of the summer Hachi wants to spend with his brothers, especially during the day, before his first brother is too old to think its “lame” to hang out all day with his brother.  So, Hachi and Ise will take them to the beach, or the arcade, or the movies, or whatever else they want to do that day, and then when they’re both tuckered out (or Hachi’s parents get home), Hachi takes Ise out one on one, and they get to have a proper date without two little kids around.

And if he’s going to see friends, they’re all chill with Ise too, and usually enjoy hearing whats going on with the team now that they’re all gone. So even if its not one on one, Ise’s still happy that he gets to see Hachi and everyone else. (He still tends to worry he’s imposing if some of the guys from his own class aren’t there)

For summer dates, especially when Hachi is in college, they try to keep things light and inexpensive. They enjoy finding cafes where they can hunker down and stay for a while without the staff getting upset, and when they get kicked out for Staying around too long, they take something cold like a shaved ice or milk shake to go.

I personally like to think Ise’s brother chills out after a while, so if its too hot of a day to do much else, but they want to get away from the sticky fingers of Hachi’s brothers, they can go to Ise’s apartment and just. Chill out in his room. It’s not the best situation, but its better than nothing until Ise can save up some money of his own to move out.

They spend most of their summer indoors, just chilling with each other and watching movies or staying up all night to watch rugby games from another timezone. Its all either of them really want, and all they need, because even in high school, they very rarely got the chance to just relax and be with each other

Your Ise/Hachioji headcanons saved me tbh

Awe thank you so much! Have some more because I’m still screaming about them and just didn’t want to overload one post…

Hachi constantly has to reassure Ise that what they have and what they’re doing is okay. Ise just gets super worked up at times because he worries so much about what other people think rather than what they pair of them feel. So for a long time, alot of their relationship is just establishing that this. This is okay. This is wonderful! This is worth a little bit of discomfort for.

They do end up being a very private couple still. Both Ise and Hachi would love to be able to hold hands and smooch or something in public, but Ise just worries people are watching them and avoids PDA at all costs.

But this makes their private affection so much more meaningful, especially to Hachi. He gets to see and feel and hear all the love Ise does really have for him, even if he gets too zonked out to show it off around other people.

Not so much shippy but one time, Ise accidentally called Hachi’s sister mom because she gives him so much attention and makes sure he’s well fed before he has to go back home. Hachi’s mom also does most of the same, but it would be alot less embarrassing if he had called an actual mom “mom”, and not his boyfriends big sister.

Hachi and Ise don’t have a whole lot of private dates. They try to go out to a movie or dinner alone, but always end up running in to someone when they’re out. It’s like.Ise’s bad luck. He doesn’t mind though, because it makes him relax a bit more when theres a big group.  Hachi gets a bit irritated when some of their friends try to tag along though, especially when they  know its a date. He wants his little Natsuki all to himself.

But also for dates? Play dates? Hachi often gets charged with taking care of his little brothers, so, when he plans on taking them to a park or aquarium or other thing like that, he often asks Ise to tag along, just because he knows how much his brothers look up to Ise, and he knows how comfortable Ise is around his family.

Hachi tries to be sly about it, but Ise always knows what Hachi is doing when Hachi never makes him pay for anything. Or rather, Hachi refuses to let him pay for anything.  Hachi’s parents probably slip Hachi a few extra bucks before he goes on a date just to make sure Ise never has to worry about paying for something.

But Ise. Promises. To himself more than to Hachi, that he will pay back every single cent one day. Because he knows Hachi is doing it out of love, but it still makes him feel a bit shitty when Hachi is always the one paying for their dates. And he wants to make sure he can provide for Hachi himself one day.

Also, pre-dating nonsense.  Hachi isn’t a senpai who normally buys snacks and such for his kouhai (who wants to buy an icecream for 17 idiot boys???), but he will often bring one of Ise’s favorite breads or buns and hand it off to him like its no big deal because that is the only way Hachi knows how to deal with his own crush. Ise never questions it, and just thinks its something Hachi does for all the underclassmen because he’s the best guy ever.

some Ise/Hachioji headcannons

Because of the recent chapter, and Ise’s Birthday (Dec 31!), I decided to write out some of the things whirring about in my head for these two loveable guys.

Ise had the most difficult time figuring out his feelings for Hachi.  Sure, he knew he respected him and looked up to him and all that kind of stuff, but he also knew his feelings for Hachi were much different than his feelings for his other senpai, who he also respected and looked up to. He always just assumed that it was because Hachi was the one who invited him to play rugby...but he can’t shake that weird feeling of happiness he gets whenever he gets to spend time with Hachi, just the two of them.

Living with his awful brother didn’t make figuring out his feelings any better. Because he always rejected them every time he almost got close to the conclusion that he liked Hachi, his brother would say something, and Ise would end up feeling like liking Hachi was wrong.

Despite that, Ise’s brother is kind of what made him realize that he did like Hachi in the end. Especially when his brother accused him and Hachi of being together.  Hachi checked on Ise about that fight a few days later and it finally just clicked with him like shit. I don’t want to be apart from Hachi for long.

Ise doesn’t really confess until he has a chance to get away from his brother though. Sometime after high school.  Hachi just smiles and says he already knew, but he didn’t try to pursue anything with Ise because he knew that he wasnt safe.

Ise has spent the night at Hachi’s house before by lying and saying he was spending time with another friend.  Ise is always welcome in Hachi’s house because obviously, the whole fam loves him.

Just. Hachi helping Ise through all the internalized homophobia and fear that came from living with his brother for so long. And Hachi showing him that it is okay to have these feelings, even if its a little scary sometimes.

Ise being so embarrassed each time he gets to do something like. hug Hachi. or hold his hand. or the first time they really cuddle together. He just gets super flustered and worries he’s doing it all wrong, and Hachi just gently smiles and tells him he’s great.

Hachi messing with Ise’s hair and twisting it up to make multiple horns all over his head. Just because. Ise doesn’t realize what Hachi has done until he looks in a mirror later.

Hachi always feeling a little bit lost when Ise gets upset because Ise just explodes after holding in whatever was bothering him. Ise never explodes at Hachi, but such an intense display of emotion unsettles him a bit. Ise thinks that Hachi is the best at comfort though, because he usually just feels better with a hug and a confirmation that Hachi will stay beside him and help him work through the problem.

Gentle cuddles?? Just Ise laying on Hachi’s tummy while Hachi rubs his hair and back and Ise is so happy and content and has everything he deserves.

Ise genuinely smiling all the time when he’s around Hachi and not putting up his fake tough persona because lets be real, that’s not him at all.

Ise spending all family holidays with Hachi’s fam after he graduates from high school, so that he doesn’t have to spend time with his brother.  And just being so much happier for it.  

Hachi making Ise a stronger person, a better person who can stand up on his own, and find peace in himself and who he loves without being ashamed of it.

Just! Hachi and Ise being together and happy with no worries in the world.
