meta humor rambel
As some one that writes a lot of meta humor and fourth wall braking parody in is "comics". I had a thought if a character is aware of there own fictionally wouldn't that mean there aware that they only know this because some one wrote them that way? Can one over use the brake down of tropes and re fences for humor that's basically the equivalent of "lol i get that reference"?
What I am getting at is I feel meta humor works best when only one or two character is aware of the fourth wall competently unless its works with in world “rules/logic” and every other character takes the world seriously. In other words it works like the “Straight man” dynamic of many comedy duos only the hole world and setting is the straight man.
