Matthew Goode 2024 Review

Make yourself a cuppa ☕️, it's long (3m20) 😆

It was a slow year (with Matthew deservedly having a break in the latter part of the year) but we got some brilliant gems : a surprise cameo appearance as vampire Kristof Lazar in Abigail (Matthew blew everyone away as the reviews testify!), a gorgeous Hackett SS24 ad with Matthew looking beautiful in the streets of Seville, and Freud's Last Session making its way into the world, with more stellar reviews and new unseen BTS.

At the beginning of the year, we got the exciting news that Matthew would be the lead as Carl Morck in Netflix crime thriller Department Q, created and directed by Scott Frank (The Lookout) and with a brilliant cast and production & creative team (The Queen's Gambit, The Crown). This screams quality! We then got glimpses of Matthew filming in the streets and on the beaches of Edinburgh looking beardy and gorgeous. Department Q will be streaming globally on Netflix (my guess is Q2 25 release, tbc).

We can also look forward to hearing Matthew voicing stressed out dad Rabbit Walter in full-length animation Spiked! (possibly March 25 release, tbc).

And hopefully we will get some news about future projects soon 🍀🍀🍀. One thing is sure, Matthew will surprise us, he always does (I am still dining on the Abigail bombshell lol).
