It is fascinating to me that three well-established sapphic fandoms all have in canon a connection to the City of Lights. Each with one of a pairing taking the other to Paris. In the original The Devil Wears Prada, Miranda chooses Andy over Emily, taking her there for Paris Fashion Week. Rizzoli & Isles concludes with Maura leaving for sabbatical in Paris and Jane tagging along. And in Hacks, Deborah takes Ava to Paris to have real bread and show her around. Each of these fandoms revolve around two women with a deep (largely unacknowledged) connection. Each of these fandoms saw the chemistry and potential from a mile away. Each of these fandoms will live on in fanfiction in perpetuity in no small part because of what may or may not have happened in Paris.
