He hasn’t had Sojiro’s coffee in ages.

It’s impossibly refreshing— his own skills are probably lacking, he hasn’t been allowed to have coffee since he’d left since his parents deemed it something that would only make him act out more( caffeine relaxes him, ironically, something he’d learned from making coffee while he was still here before).

He’s thankful that Sojiro closed up shop for the day when he’d arrived so they could talk in private— Akira had come clean when Sojiro had asked why he looked so thin and sickly. Told him everything he’d been through since his friends had dropped him off in his hometown, and Sojiro’s stern face has him feeling oddly comfortable as he shifts uncomfortably in the gakuran of his old school, finally having the mind to unbutton it and crumple it up and shove it in his school bag on top of his dumb diploma, Morgana calmly dozing on the bottom stair a ways off.

He takes another long sip of coffee and sighs, rolling his shoulders and finally allowing himself to relax.

Though-- he has an inkling the information he’s shared won’t stay between just the two of them for long.

“Thanks,” He breathed a small sigh of relief as he took a seat across from her - at the very least, Futaba seemed happy to see him, which was a good thing.  Futaba was a difficult person for him to read, but underneath all that she did seem like someone who was incredibly kind - not to mention to incredibly intelligent.  The work she’d done for the Phantom Thieves was a testament to that.

He shuddered slightly as he heard a loud clap of thunder though his attention was quickly diverted when he heard Futaba mention something about needing to show him something.

“Yeah...?” His tone was a mixture of both caution and excitement.  “Something good, I hope..?”

It seemed dumb, and it probably was, but deciding to venture in the technology department of that huge mall took Ada months. It was not anxiety nor fear, but the remote possibility of experiencing a deja-vu of some sort, actually made Ada uncomfortable. Of course, she wasn’t going to push anyone in---but the memories? She’d rather leave them locked in a box hidden somewhere in a dark corner of her mind. 

Still, you can’t run forever, especially when you need a new boiler. So there she was, in a department that was nothing like Junes’ one. Thank God. Now that she was there, why did she ever think a majestic mall in Tokyo would have a technology department similar to that frigging small place in Inaba? Dumb me.

And eventually, just like a magnet, Ada found herself in front of a huge TV. Like, truly huge. She stood there, captured by that magnificent black screen. Her eyes moved for a split second to her right, to assess the presence of a girl, staring at that beauty as well. She was so---tiny.
