Clarity II, Hadley Rampton

This piece was inspired a the lovely, early summer day at the edge of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Utah. The piece was painted entirely onsite over a few days, returning to paint at the same time each day. I hope that the fresh, clarifying feeling I felt while painting transpires.

Linger, Hadley Rampton

Single, dark tree, holding on to it's last, lingering autumn leaves. Fall is coming to an end as winter moves in, the mountains behind already covered in snow. But there is something warm, prehaps even romantic about the evident transition of the season. Very earthy and very real.

Old Town, Skopje, Macedonia, Hadley Rampton

I painted this piece onsite, sitting on a stool in Skopje, Macedonia's "Old Town". In Macedonia there is a beautiful blend of Western and Turkish influences, very evident to me in this scene. The history here is rich. I enjoyed ruminating on all that passed, all that this corner of Skpje has seen. These streets and buildings tell a story.

Rise, Hadley Rampton

I painted this piece standing in an aspen grove in Emigration Canyon, a canyon in the Wasatch Mountains of northern Utah. It was early summer and the warm sun flickered through the delicate leaves of the aspen surrounding and above me. I looked up through those leaves to a blue sky, softened by light wisps of clouds.
