Fun fact I just learned! Apparently some species of snakes feign death as a defense mechanism by rolling over (I know it’s meant for self defense, but seeing videos of snakes doing it makes me laugh)
But I’m curious would the naga babies roll over and do it out of dramatics/attention for their human parent?
(Hognoses and Dice Snakes tend to do the feigning death tactic, it is very cute)
Warnings: just cute little things, the snakelets are platonic yanderes for their Human parent, the Human/Reader is gender neutral, Jamil is yandere for Reader
The would absolutely roll over and play dead, especially if their Human parent is occupied or interacting with someone else. They don't do this as often with Jamil, but they absolutely will employ this tactic if they feel they are not getting enough attention from their parents. Where they all do this feigning death to some degree, sometimes all seven of them will pretend to keel over because they don't want their parents talking to someone else or giving attention to the others.
Sometimes, they will even try to play dead when their Human parent is talking to Jamil or giving Jamil attention. Jamil does get annoyed by this, but he honestly can't blame his young for behaving in such a way. It is only natural the little ones will be demanding and want attention from their favorite of their two parents. Jamil would likely do the same if he thought it would get more attention from his beloved.
Jamil at the rest of the fathers in the Harem ending
They all looked like the rest of them it’s so fucking funny 😭😭😭
“WHY DOES 90% OF MY BABIES HAVE ALL OF YOUR FACES”
“Idk man, biology is weird” Vil says, as he slowly puts the snakelet that looks like him in a basket to take back home
“Yeah, have you seen my kids? They are golden rose and platinum!” Comments Leona, as he starts to take as many photos as he can to be more smug at dinner (also his sister-in-law requested photos)
Jamil is going to need a new system to keep the rest of these guys AWAY (specially Vil)
Warnings; multiple yanderes (Platonic with the children only), harem ending, monster au, yandere au, mention of kidnapping,
~•§•~
Jamil is stressed by the idea of any of the others taking his Snakelets. He is counting, re-counting, and then counting again to ensure the entire clutch is accounted for.
Riddle loves the tiny Snakelet look-alike and adores the kindred bond he feels with her. He could absolutely see her getting along with his Household and the other young. No doubt Trey will love spoiling her with treats and a gentle hand to guide her. Riddle is ready to step up as a father the second he sees the little look-alike Snakelet.
Leona has a point, his cubs are abnormal colors for Nemean Lions and are all the more valued for it. Traditional gold is only so impressive when everyone has it as a fur color, but White Gold and Rose Gold? That is unique and makes them all the more valuable to the Kingdom. He certainly wouldn't mind adding the Snakelet look-alike to his Household and the Lionesses would love another infant to care for.
Azul is absolutely bonded at first sight with the small Snakelet look-alike that has his colors. He just needs to ensure she is safe to take her back with him to the Coral Sea. She need not drink a transformation potion, just needs a water-breathing charm and she can grow up around his fry as his daughter. His seven girls would love another sister.
Vil is thrilled they already have their own little egg-shaped baskets that he can use to just pick up the Snakelet look-alike and disappear with her. He has half a mind to take all of them if he can manage it, but he will settle for just taking the one that looks like him most. Vil adores the way the Snakelets have an iridescent sheen to them.
Idia is almost in tears. You mean to tell him he can't take this little bundle of life and joy home with him? But Idia already adores him and wants to introduce the Snakelet look-alike to Papa Hades! It would give the other Shrouds an infant to obsess over and he promises to take great care of the Snakelet.
Malleus is humming the song his mother hummed for him as he is ready to leave with his Snakelet look-alike. She has scales, has his colors, and could fit right in with his Hatchlings. What more could he possibly require to accept the new young into his home?
Meanwhile, Kalim is completely convinced all of these Snakelets are his children and he wants to shower them in gold of all kinds. Nevermind the fact that they are all very clearly Naga, he just knows in his heart of hearts that these Snakelets are his beautiful children and he will treat them as such.
Just read about the baby Driders hunting. I bet Jamil loves them when they grow a little bigger. Having them visit on occasion and they hunt all the bugs on the property. Just something cute that unites two of the families that don’t always hang around each other.
Jamil is THRILLED the infants are visiting and are hunting down all of the unsavory insects and other arachnids, but Jamil is also terrified of arachnids as well. He finds Rook incredibly disturbing and- though he adores the Driderlings- he also finds them intimidating and a little uncomfortable to be around. The Naga Snakelets don't share their father's fears, and adore playing with the Driderlings on any day they can. The offspring are all addicted to one another, just as they are to the Human, so they all get along wonderfully.
It isn't uncommon for a Naga Snakelet to pair up with a Driderling and let the Driderling carry them around. Jamil thinks it is both disturbing and sweet as he is also addicted to the younglings of both kinds no matter how disturbed the Driderlings make him.
“6 months incubating, AND 90% OF THEM LOOK LIKE THEIR STUPID FATHERS”
The others: :D
He will still love them of course
Interestingly enough, Jamil doesn't care who they look like, he simply knows they are his and he loves them. He will fight to the death for all of his Snakelets regardless of who it is or who tries to take them away. Jamil is more partial to the one that looks like him, but as far as he is concerned, he is the one and only father.
Warning; harem ending of HAE AU, monster au, as the ask states, platonic yandere behavior
Jamil will insist the other Households come to the Al-Asim/Viper Household if they want to socialize the young. The only other time the Snakelets are around their half siblings are holiday events (the handful of big seasonal holidays Twisted Wonderland has, and the Human's Birthday) which are all spent on the Isle of Woe. They are on the Isle of Woe for several reasons; allows all the half-siblings to spend time together, spacious/protected, to ensure all young leave with the proper Household (*cough* to keep Vil from thieving more children *cough cough*).
The Snakelets LOVE warmth, just like their father. They will sun, seek out heat sources, and cuddle their warmer siblings instinctually. Sterling runs warm and his fluffy fur means he is a space-heater of a child, so naturally the colder blooded siblings will gravitate towards him. The Royal Hatchlings, the Raiju pups, Selene, and the Snakelets will all pile onto Sterling who doesn't even stir from his rest. Sterling is asleep more often than he is awake- much like Silver- so it is a relief to the Household and family if one of the more alert younglings stays with him. The Snakelets all wind themselves around Sterling and sleep in a nice sunny patch on good days. Sterling is- for the most part- comfortable beneath the living pile of his half-siblings and will happily cuddle the seven Snakelets.
Jamil is actually thrilled the Snakelets adore Sterling and will often invite Silver and Sterling over without the rest of the Briar Valley Household. Silver doesn't try to steal the Snakelets and is happy that Sterling has the chance to connect with his half-siblings, so it is a win-win for the two fathers. Jamil actually trusts Silver quite a bit with the Snakelets, he just doesn't trust Malleus to not try and escape with one or more of the Snakelets.
How would Jamil react if the human named the snakelet look-a-like after him?
He'd be confused at best. He knows he is the father of them all, he doesn't really get the desire to share his name with them. Unlike the Al-Asim, Jamil doesn't get the point of naming children after their parents. He doesn't want his Snakelets to live in someone else's shadow, not even his own. He knows how that feels and he wants them to be free to choose their paths where he was unable to do the same.
