she chuckled, looking up at him with amused eyes. “and did you want me here or was it the other way around?” it was all said with a smile, but ahreum truly wanted to hear the answer. it would be good to know her reputation with the princes, even if they were already taken. but she couldn’t exactly expect honesty when they were in a room filled with people, each with a pair of ears. it wasn’t like ahreum had been keeping herself honest either.

“i suppose attending a wedding the day before your birthday wouldn’t be the most recommended activity, but i wouldn’t want to miss such incredible event.” she held her hands in front of her body, giving off the idea she really didn’t mind that her one special day had been completely ruined. at least the bride’s special day hadn’t been the best either.

the words startle her from her daze, hues having been locked upon the pairing for so long she felt as if she had been in a trance. she’ll redirect her attention to the other for a moment (if only to see who was speaking to her), before considering his question. as a believer in true love and soulmates, she always held the hope that everyone would find their happiness. and though she had found such feeling in her own marriage, she knew that was not the case for most. as far as hayeon knew, the pair could be miserable with one another. 

“i suppose it depends on what your opinion of ‘good’ is…” 

her upper body turns in the direction of the other so she could give him her full attention, features displaying a bright optimism that contrasted against everyone else’s (seemingly) upset moods. 

“they’re both very good looking people so it would only make sense for them to look good together, don’t you think?”

the princess glances at the open palm her husband has offered her, and then back to her husband again. he looks absolutely dashing in his formal attire, a welcome break from the heavy armor he wears normally against his lithe frame. her heart soars for a moment and then it aches. if only this could be her everyday. if only they were as happy as they claimed to be.“of course, my love.” she replies with the gentlest of her smiles. her hand find his and she makes sure to entwine their fingers before they make their grand entrance together into the wedding, ready to put on a show.
