imo the three little first years who play with Hinata in middle school should join Karasuno later. I bet they followed their cool former senpai's journey to nationals and are just so in awe of him. They join Karasuno after a lenghty debate on the pros (being on a team with Hinata) and cons (being on a team with Kageyama) and follow Hinata around like little ducklings. Yamaguchi and Tsukishima think it's hilarious because two of them are way taller than Hinata now.

They also get cool points in the eyes of the other first years because they knew Hinata and played with him in middle school. This is also hell for Kageyama because he does NOT want to be reminded of his last year of middle school and suddenly it keep getting brought up again (again, Tsukishima thinks this is hilarious).

This is also how the others find out Hinata used to be captain, Kageyama probably forgot or just didn't care to bring it up ever. Yachi asks about that game at some point and the three of them start gushing about how amazing Hinata was as a captain and senpai.

There is also a reunion of that middle school team when Karasuno make it to nationals again that year and Izumi and Kouji come to support them (they're very proud and emotional)

Okay, so this is probably gonna sound really creepy but I’m having a garage sale and just found some Haikyuu pins, keychains, cards, and a sweatshirt. Most of them I bought but literally never used for some reason so they’re still in good condition. If any moots were interested ( @banana-pancake5 and @crow-hoards-things came to mind bc I know you guys are hyped for Haikyuu rn ^^) message me and I’d me happy to send them to you (as gifts, no charge btw)
