Rocky’s speech, translated: this is the most blunt, most impatient guy you’ve ever met and he won’t stop talking in all caps with no need for grammar

Al-an’s speech, translated: calm, patient, speaks elegantly with a wide vocabulary, all with a cute little British accent as the cherry on top

Eridian Robin and Al-an!

I imagine Al-an designed his eridian body himself, hence why it’s made out of synthetic material and why it only has 4 legs. He can transfer in and out of it as well as use his robot arms

the idea of Grace kind of viewing Robin in an uncanny light because of how advanced humans have become in her time. She’s immune to most diseases. She won’t die of old age until she’s 150. She talks about alien life, traveling at light speed, and instant fabrication so casually, like a Star Trek character. She can perform incredible physical feats like swimming for days on end while not at all being a trained athlete, and falling from a height that would break every bone in his body only sprains her ankle.

She is human, obviously. She speaks the same as him, thinks the same, and came from the same planet. But there’s subtle uncanny differences. It’s like taking a small peek at how humans will evolve over time

Al-an being significantly older (and more traveled) than literally everyone else here is hilarious to me.

Grace: I think the thing I miss most about earth is the nature, it just isn’t the same on Erid…

Robin: same… even if there’s less of it in my time.

Al-an: I concur, I visited during your 13th century. Plain, but interesting nonetheless.

And yes it is canon that the architects have been to earth and have studied humans, I was shocked too 😭 I like to think that Al-an just never thought to bring it up that first contact happened over 800 years ago

Do you think Al-an could join eridian thrums? Because I definitely think he would enjoy them. I imagine it’s really nostalgic for him to be in a hivemind-like state after so long disconnected from his network.

I also bring this up because there’s a voice line where Al-an describes being in a network as “a continuous thrum in the background of existence” and I think it’s a sweet coincidence that both use the same term

I like to think that Robin and Al-an really enjoy teaching the pebbles alongside Grace. Of course, they’re not always there, they prefer to leave the dome and study eridian culture and biology, but every once and a while Grace will announce that there will be a special guest at a lesson. It’s Al-an and Robin. It’s always either one of them or both. The pebbles know and expect this, but they always get overly hyped anyways because all 3 of them are so cool!!!!! TWO leaky space blobs??!?!?! AND a cyber space deer?!??!?!??!?

I’ve touched on this before, but the idea of Robin thinking the Hail Mary is some Alterra trap when first encountering it lives rent free in my head.

She’s technically a criminal in their eyes, sneaking onto a planet with top secret research underway on it. There’s no way their satellites didn’t notice the phase gate being used.

For all she knows, this could be a disguised police ship, sent to arrest her for whatever crimes they felt like pinning on her. It’s not like she could win in court against a company that owns 80% of transgov space.

But she’s desperate. Al-an can’t find his world, and her PDA has been screaming at her to eat and drink for days on end.

In their universe, it’s rare to go a few hours without seeing at least a phase gate, so to go days without any other sign of humanity is terrifying. They can’t just let up what might be their only opportunity to survive, be it a trap or not.

Even if they’re going to throw her in prison and take Al-an away for whatever they want with his race, she has no other option.
