I feel the need to explain myself or, at the very least, this:

"Everyone in my Talia tags can kindly shut the fuck up about Bane, Talia, and Ra’s not being white. We get it. The movie fucked up. Get past it.

Now just shut up."

That was not, in any way, shape, or form, condoning any white-washing, real or imagined. That was me getting frustrated at the constant clogging of my Talia al Ghul tag with the complaining and whining -- and it was a half-serious rant at that. I did not expect it to blossom into the shit-storm that it did, namely by someone with the tumblr under the name daggerpen submitting that to damnlayoffthebleach.

I don't appreciate being attacked. I don't appreciate anyone being attacked. I don't want anyone who comes to my support to get hate. Do you realize that these are fictional characters? Not that you shouldn't be outraged over the lack of POC, but that this is what you're wasting your time on, this is what you're bullying people over?

I no longer use Minka Kelly as a FC. Not because I bowed to social pressure, but because I wanted someone who more resembled Ra's, and my Ra's uses Oded Fehr, an Israeli actor. As such, I switched to Donna Feldman, an Israeli model. Do I care if any of the other Talias use white FCs? No. Because it's their choice.

Who someone use as a FC is none of your business. That doesn't give you the right to bully them, send them hate, or send their supporters hate. This is supposed to be fun. I can't tell you how sour my stomach turned when I found that site. I'm a thick-skinned person, but that hurt. And then someone wonderful like Omni came to my defense, and she got called the c-word. Don't. You're not a badass for doing so, you're not cool, and if you have something nasty to say, my inbox is up there and open -- and if you're cowardly, anonymous is on. Have at it.

Beyond that, to everyone, and I mean everyone, who has come to my aide in some manner, thank you. I appreciate you and your characters and I just am so happy to be in a fandom like this, surrounded by people like you. I will always have your back, just as you had mine tonight, no matter how deep it is.
