Please appreciate the progress that has been made in the 10 years that I've been trimming my own bangs.
Here’s take #2 wash day on my wavy curly haired journey. I didn’t post anything about attempt #1 cause I was just winging it.
I watched some videos on how to properly wash my hair and distribute shampoo & conditioner properly. This time, I applied the leave-in conditioner in the shower while my hair was still soaking wet and wrapped a microfiber towel around my hair for 10 mins. After that, I used some gel mixed with water and started scrunching my hair some more, then used the style brush to try and define the curls. My hair does NOT want to stay wet. By the time I was done, there was still some frizzing but ultimately, I think it came out alright. It really feels like one side of my head wants to curl, and the other side doesn’t lmao. Next time, I may try to use the gel while I’m still in the shower too so my hair is soaking wet for sure when I do it.
1 - wet, out of the shower, after the microfiber headwrap, no products yet
2 - after adding product, dry
3 - I wanted to see what the back looked like
4 - the next morning, after sleeping with a bonnet, before refresh

So basically, this is my tale.
I have had every haircut imaginable from a super-close cropped pixie to long mermaid waves. The last time I saw my stylist was in March when she gave me a super cool faded pixie. After growing it out with no trim for a while, I started to get that dreaded shaggy mullet look.
This is where tragedy strikes: To save money, I thought I’d try my hand at cleaning it up myself. It was sooo wrong in so many ways. So once again, to save money (read: stupid) I went to the cheap salon. The stylist did me soooo wrong.
I should’ve known something was up when the woman who got her hair done before me was CRYING when she left. Well now I am crying too! What are these uneven pieces? That wavy ass hairline in the back?? I absolutely hate it.
Well it’s not like I can go back in time, or glue the hair back on, so I paid the stylist and left. I vowed then and there to A: never attempt to cut my own hair again, and B: never let anyone but my trusted stylist touch my head again (forgive me Chelsea!!)
To make a long story short, as of yesterday I’m officially growing my hair out again! I’m not sure where I’ll end up but I’ll update this blog periodically to document my progress and make myself feel better by manifesting beautiful hair. If you’d like you can follow along!

Last week was really tough with all the sad news especially the death of Chadwick Boseman. I was and still am sad about it.. Such a beautiful creature, inspiration and legend ❤️
Despite the sad news I am happy my vacation is on! Especially this week I go camping with my Jul friend @beyondtomorrow 😌
