If she was being completely honest, which she wasn’t, it was just one of those days where her brain shut down. After everything that she’d gone through, all that had happened, this was just something that occurred from time to time and resulted in her sitting there talking to someone and not listening or taking in a damn word they said.

It didn’t happen because she was bored or because she simply didn’t care or want to listen, it just happened and left her particularly frustrated in situations like this where she honestly had no idea what the person currently speaking had said before she registered his words. Given how little interactions they’d had prior to her kissing him however she could only imagine it was centered around that or simply whatever random thing the other blonde had chosen would be the topic.

Lucy found that regardless of what he had said prior, no matter what is was, she would more than likely have responded this way anyway if for no other reason than teasing him was too entertaining to pass up. Hand waving in front of her, feigning annoyance as she huffed slightly whilst smirking on the inside, she spoke as if it was the most obvious answer in the world.

This was it, the last time she ever challenged anyone from her god forsaken guild to a drink off and bargained with anything other than money. She could stand ( just barely ) to lose a few Jewels but her dignity was something she was just not willing to gamble with anymore, not when the odds were certainly not in her favour at least.

Luckily enough for her however tonight’s loss had not been all that terrible and had only required the ‘innocent little princess’ to give someone a kiss, no specifications as to who or how that kiss had to be given, and for that she was grateful.

Lower lip being tugged back behind her teeth she scanned the guild hall, that was currently filled with all their friends from guilds all over Fiore, and eyed potential people to present with a kiss. She went through almost everyone in her head, weighing up the pros and cons of doing such a thing before her eyes happened to land on a certain blonde Dragon Slayer and a smirk settled on her lips.

Anyone with eyes could see that the man was attractive, you’d have to be a fool to think otherwise, but the ego that rolled off of him like a wave normally had her running in the other direction. It wasn’t something she had wanted to compete with, nor the fact that there may have been the issue that she thought he was prettier than she.

It couldn’t hurt to kiss him though right? It’s not like they’d be eloping and running off to Bosco for a honeymoon, just a simple, easy, kiss that had absolutely no strings attached. Precisely what men wanted normally, or so she had heard from nearly every woman she’d ever encountered, part of her could hope that deep down that it was dependent on the person not the gender.

So who was she to judge a man she barely knew, it wasn’t as if she didn’t run off her ego on the days things felt good.

Nodding her head as a sign she had chosen her target, and strengthened her resolve, she threw back a shot and screwed up her face at the taste before straightening out her hair and clothes and walking over to where he stood arguing with her best friend and tapped him on the shoulder.

Before he could get a word out, anything that may change her mind or she just up and chickened out, she grabbed him by the front of his top and tugged him close to her as she crashed her lips against his. Her head instantly tilting to the side slightly as her eyes slipped closed, the urgency of her mouth moving against his barely ceasing as she grazed his lower lip with her teeth before pulling away with her hands still fisted into his top.

“– Sting..”

That was it, her entire explanation for her kiss simply being uttered as no more than a greeting as she walked away from him and tried to ignore the shocked looks of most people in the room. Her hands shaking slightly as she muttered under her breath.

“Liquid courage my ass, I can’t stop shaking…”
