HAL still waiting for order given by defense minister Nirmala Sitharaman
New Delhi : India’s largest public sector undertaking, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is awaiting the order of one lakh crore as told by Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while discussing Rafael.
Defense Acquisition Council has already approved some orders, acknowledging the need for security forces, but HAL has not received actual orders yet.
HAL had 1,000 million rupees to pay its employees for only three months. At the same time, HAL’s largest client, Indian Air Force, has not paid any of its dues. Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that the Modi government has given order for one lakh crores to HAL.
The acceptance and approval of the requirement of several orders has been met by the Defense Acquisition Council but no order has been placed so far. An official of HAL said on condition of anonymity that no order has been received nor any money was received.
In the Lok Sabha, the Defense Minister had said that several orders are pending in the present. They include LCA Tejas of 50 thousand crore, Combat helicopter of 3 thousand crores, 200 other helicopters of 20 thousand crores, 19 droner transport aircraft of 3400 crores, helicopter of 15 thousand crores and 8400 Includes Arrow Engines.
