Make Circles
for those who came from half dreams - here’s me reworking the overall plot 🙏🙏
I didn’t get enough sleep last night, and while sitting at the computer trying to come up with the best way to phrase a sentence, my mind kept slipping into a half-dream state in which I knew where I was and that I was supposed to be typing but also, at different times:
1. A family of small raccoons had built a nest in the corner of the room. Someone else was now in charge of my room, and that person saw no need to drive out the raccoons, saying, “They’re happy, I’m happy, you’re happy.”
2. A friendly dragon was floating in the water while a narcissistic seal was stealing something of mine on the beach. The dragon moved to block the seal’s escape, and the seal—who would normally have the advantage in water—had to decide whether to put back what he was stealing or dive in and try to outswim the dragon.
3. A young twig woman was hurrying through the reeds when a stork picked her up in its beak. The stork and a nearby goose began tossing her back and forth with their beaks. Being made of sturdy wood, she wasn’t being injured by the process so far, but it was still scary and still preventing her from getting on with her mission.

CROATIA RELEASES NEW EP
Victoria quartet Croatia has released their new EP, Half Dreams. Inviting in its sprawling rhythms and ‘80s pop veneer, the group’s lyrics suggest a more anguished, abstract commentary over their contemporaries. “I touch a phone screen to feel like anything / so does everyone I know,” Steve Mitchell sings on “Dating Pools” – a shimmering funk number that speaks to our disconnect with reality, and an indulgence for the virtual world that lingers. Neon synthesizers, Ben Erikson’s shuffling backbeat and a tight falsetto; Half Dreams is a critical take on how we interact with others, but equally primed for the dancefloor. Check out the EP below!
Half of me hopes that with this vacation that is coming up, whatever we do, my boyfriend gets me some sort of promise ring. But then the other half of me doesnt. Like I'm kinda jealous of everyone getting engaged and married but I'm also not ready to be married. That's why I said promise ring. We would probably be engaged for 7 years before anything. Or the rest of our lives. We're not in any rush and it's not like I have friends to tell. I don't even know why I have any amount of hope for that. My only standards are it's not over 50 dollars at max and it's sterling silver. I would never want a ring more than 50 dollars. I don't know. Just thought I'd share.
