Guess who's idea gremlins are back
So it's about the linked universe again
So I recently got Cartethiya and something about her and the Danny phantom brainrot rn made me make this
So:
-The reader is from another world
-back story before she met the links:
She was plopped in a completely different Zelda after dying in her og world
This Zelda is fused with the dead in a way
Like the heroes originally failed, similar to botw but link is dead dead
So centuries passed with them barely holding Ganon back until reader appears because Hylia shenanigans
And how reader gets involved is through almost dying
Again
Reader appeared in a forest while a fucking sword pierced through their heart for whatever
They pulled it out, stumbled for a bit, then collapsed
A nearby great fairy or something along those lines appears and heals her in exchange for her freeing/saving a nearby village they were protecting but can't cause their too weak to do it
Reader heads to free the village because they feel they have to
Shenanigans insue
In order to properly deal with the monster, reader goes to a weapon, aka master sword unbeknownst to them
Here, reader meets ghost link after completing the trial and he asks for their help in saving hyrule
Reader accepts after some hesitation because they might be able to get home if they go on this journey
Throughout the journey, they meet the spirits of the other fallen (aka, characters like the champions,) and yada yada
They also bond with ghost!link who's accompanied them both to help in their journey and to also wield the master sword since reader can't cause she's technically not the chosen one but is?
Anyway, his there and over time you both learn to work together, you allow him to take over your body to use the master sword properly and he teaches you to fight
This whole body hosting thing can also happen with the other falled
When you finally have everyone and you got a weapon blueprint that can deal with the dead, you head out to look for the three goddesses blessings or powera for this weapon
You get two of them but the third is with Ganon because of corruption powers, yada yada
So you head there but in order to obtain her power, you face a trial
Idk why but I feel like you got cursed by Ganon so when you face her, the curse flares up and let's say it's everything you hate about yourself
She uses that against you and eventually, you use it to your advantage somehow
Like you start accepting yourself and reinforce ideals/who you are
And when you finally and firmly do, she grants you her power and with all three goddesses powers, ignoring Hylia for now, it converges in theto the mastersword
But in order for it to properly work, you jave to make a sacrifice
You have an idea of it but don't tell the others because you're scared of it
So when the time comes for you to defeat Ganon for at least a few centuries or millennia, you sacrifice your ability to return home and half of your essence(essentially what makes something living, like a soul but but really) and now your half-ghost, half human
With that, you all defeat Ganon and the souls return back into the land expect a few. Link and Zelda
Zelda because of her sense of duty to her people and Links desire for adventuring and heavy want(I wanna say duty) to help Zelda
So they stick around with you as you explore and help people now and then but for anything major, given your connection to the dead, you're often called for political meetings which is horrendous
Anyway, eventually you meet the other links and shenanigans insue
-i definitely want to add the shock of the change to the mastersword to the story and also the shock that the hero originally, somewhat, failed, similar to wild
-have the two links bond in a fucked way because of that
-ALSO want to add the reveal of the reader technically being a hero in a fight that includes monster(ghost) from her world
-like you'll whil out the reformed mastersword and they question you and then you explain
Honestly a silly idea that came to mind today.
