There’s a very specific form of size difference that I enjoy that I refer to as half-size because I’m not sure if it has an official name. Simply put, it’s one party being half as tall as the other, a bigger size difference than would be typically seen in humans but a smaller one than what would be considered micro/macro. Obviously it’s conducive to a monster/human relationship, with the human only being tall enough to reach the monster’s waist or belly (houghhhh.) but being that I’m also a freak for monster-on-monster content, it gives me access to an oft-ignored realm of small creatures like imps and goblins with partners known for their size like Dragonborns and Minotaurs. I don’t know where I was going with this just that I like half-size and wish to see more of it 👍
Simone the rabbit and Tez the ferret go on a winter walk, but the little ferret was not prepared for the temperature. His friend helps him make it home safe and sound.
"Oh goodness it's cold out!" Tez exclaimed, looking up at their big rabbit friend with a scowl.
Simone just smiled down at the ferret, "Well that's unfortunate, but there's not much I can do until we get home. This was your idea after all."
"Oh yeah, sure, Ms. 'It'll be so pretty, we gotta go,'" they huffed. After a few more moments trudging through the knee deep snow, they added, "The view wasn't even that good."
"Could've fooled me, the way you were gawking not long ago now."
"I- Well- Maybe!"
Simone giggled, her long lop ears waggling to and fro. The show didn't impede her near as much, so she was continually stopping to let her smaller friend catch up. Tez insisted on forging their own path instead of using her footsteps for an easier time. That did not, however, stop them from whining.
"The air is crisp! I swear I can feel the ice crystals in it. Not to mention my clothes are soaked. I'm going to be a snowman before we even get halfway home," they groaned between ragged breaths.
"Oh come on, it's not that far now. You'll make it."
"No I won't," Tez declared dramatically, flopping into the snow for added effect.
Simone rolled her eyes, "Come on!"
All she got in response was a noncommittal grunt. She stood in the snowy path, staring silently. Her little friend's body was trembling from shivers. Even as she watched they increased in intensity. Leaning down, she furrowed her brown and gave them a poke. When that did not elicit a response, she said, "Tezzy? Come on."
They turned to look at her, teeth chattering. They reached for her outstretched arm and stood. Brushing snow off, they sighed, "I supposed those theatrics didn't help my situation much."
"Not one bit," Simone added with a single affirmative nod. After a moment of consideration, she mumbled, "I know what might though."
"Oh?"
Without answering, she reached out for Tez and pulled them close. Their body trembled in her arms as it tried vainly to overcome the cold. She clicked her tongue and shook her head, "You're just not built for this."
"I suppose you are though," they mumbled into her jacket, head just barely reaching her chest. Their arms wrapped awkwardly around her waist, unable to fully encircle it. Beneath her jacket they could feel soft flesh that surely insulated her against the cold.
Tez gasped when her hold shifted and she hauled them up to be face to face with her. Her nose was red from the cold and twitching as she looked back at them. She licked her lips then stretched her jaws wide, pushing her friend up and towards them.
Tez squirmed, sputtering excuses and trying to escape her strong grip. Her warm breath washed over them, a sweet contrast to the bitterly cold air. As their head passed into her maw, her teeth scraped along the top of their head and along their throat, forcing them to go still.
Her arms continued to shift and shove her surprise meal into her mouth. Their cold fur soaked up warm saliva. She gulped at them continually, her throat helping to drag them inside.
The ferret's legs kicked wildly in the air, knocking the rabbit onto her butt as she finished up her meal. Even with the loss of balance she was able to completely consume them.
As she felt them squirm around inside her stomach, some air slid up and she pat her belly until the belch escaped. She watched the mist disperse into the air and rubbed at her full belly to ease the tense feeling.
Tez was curled up inside, perfectly comfortable since they were so flexible. Her body heat pulsed around her prey, warming them up quickly. Tez stretched and twisted to get more comfortable, leaning into the soft, warm walls. Each movement elicited loud growls and gurgles. While the ferret tried to express their thanks, the belly sounds easily drowned their words out. Regardless, Simone knew her little friend was grateful.
With no small effort, she was able to stand. Her belly sagged a bit, popping out from beneath her jacket just enough to feel the chill bite of the air. Thankfully, she was covered in fine fur that would protect the sensitive skin until they got home. She put one hand to her bloated belly and waddled through the snow towards their home.
Back home at last, Simone flopped into a recliner with a hot beverage. She tried to rouse Tez, but they seemed to have fallen fast asleep after their little outing. At least they would be safe inside until they woke up.
She lay back, watching a fire in their fireplace flicker and eat up the logs she had chopped. Her hot mug rested on her bare belly, shirt refusing to cover the whole thing. The little circle of hear was nice, and the sides warmed her hands. She didn't drink it quite yet, not wanting to be rude to her sleeping friend.
