COMIC UPDATE: I AM ALIVE!

Hello all! I am so sorry for the long hiatus in my updates. I promise the hiatus will be over soon! As I’ve probably mentioned before, I’ve been busy and overwhelmed with moving to another apartment! It’s been a lot to deal with, but I finally have a moving date set for the end of this week! Hopefully once I’m settled into my new place, updates will become more regular again!

Thank you for being so patient with me while I figure shit out with my life! I look forward to getting back into a normal schedule again and creating more art!

Jumping off of that one person who asked about what would happen if a giant died before they got banded, thus leaving their partner early. You said that'd be impossible because they wouldn't die?

Unfortunately, children sometimes get sick and pass away, which I'm assuming giants aren't immune to. So, in the unfortunate event of that happening, what would become of the lone giantling?

They would get paired off with another giant instead of their sibling. It just doesn’t count as getting ‘banished’ if the giant that you’re supposed to get paired with dies before you become officially paired up with them

Is it possible for a human and a giant to be friends / be in love without predation for long periods of time? Like a human form giant living with their person. Would be even funnier if the hunting partner had to begrudgingly go with things and became the "against" their will became the third (the hunting partners aren't related in this idea lol,,)

That scenario would be incredibly unlikely, since their hunting instincts towards humans remains very strong, and they would constantly feel the urge to kill their human romantic partner, so it probably wouldn’t end well.

In an ALTERNATE scenario (spoilers for the written version):

Hunting instincts are caused by their bands, so if the giant was banished, they would no longer experience instincts, and would likely just experience a placebo effect of their instincts since they’re used to craving eating humans. It would be difficult to break away from their habits of eating humans, but it’s possible.

In another alternate situation, there is a giant character in my story who was separated from his clan at age 7 and was never banded. He was raised by humans and used purification ice to keep his camo form for longer periods of time. He grew up and fell in love with a human and had a child with her. So it is possible for a giant to fall in love with a human, but it can be very situational and very rare, or else it will likely end badly.

If a giant's twin/hunting partner were to de before they got their first band, would they still get banished?

That would be impossible, since they get their first band when they’re assigned their hunting partner. Their first band technically marks the end of their training from their home clan and sends them out into the world with their hunting partner.
