Olympus F. Zuiko 32mm f 1.9 Lens used in Olympus Pen D, Circa April 1962 by Kirk Thorsteinson Via Flickr: Extracted / Adapted from Olympus Pen D Manual, Japanese Language, Japanese Market, Printed April 1962 (Showa 39). The Pen D was a more expensive model than its predecessors (the original Pen and Pen S). Launched in 1962, it has a 32mm f/1.9 F Zuiko lens, a shutter going to 1/500 and an uncoupled selenium meter. Film speeds ranged from 10 to 400 ISO. The Pen D has a F. Zuiko 32mm f/ 1.9 lens (6-element, 4-group lens made of a new type of glass (he shaded area in the lens configuration diagram used the new type of glass). The 5-blade printer type shutter used in this model is reported in the manual as 20% thinner than previous models. The 32 mm lens when used in a half frame camera is equivalent to approximately equivalent to a 45 mm lens in full-frame 35mm camera.
