Prompt 28 - Hallowed
@wolfstarmicrofic October 28, word count 235
“Oh, come on, Remus. You know I can’t go in there,” Sirius huffed as he followed the lanky, cardigan-wearing human around the tiny village.
“What do you mean?” Remus asked, his brow furrowed in confusion as he looked back at Sirius.
“Church— Hallowed ground— Demon!” He pointed at himself. Remus’s eyes widened, and his mouth fell open as he realised what the problem had been.
“Oh, sorry, I forgot. It’s just really pretty inside.” He shrugged as he carried on past the gates.
“You forgot?! How could you forget? You sold your soul to me a month ago, and I’ve been pestering you ever since. How could you forget?!!!” Sirius flung his arms up in exasperation. In the hundreds of years he’d been doing this, not one human had ever forgotten what he was. But Remus was different, the strange man seemed to actually enjoy Sirius’s company and was a thousand times happier since he’d called on him.
Sirius almost felt bad about their bargain. Remus was now doomed to an eternity in hell, all for the sake of giving his dying mother a few more years of life. If Sirius wasn’t a hell-raised Demon from a long line of hell-raised Demons with bloodlines right back to Lilith herself, he might have tried to find a way to get Remus out of his deal, but he was, and he’d never let a soul go yet.
