Two nights past marked All Hallows Eve and the annual Halloween Day Parade here in NYC. The InDaze crew made sure to dress for the occasion and head down to check it out and march while sharing some of the sights online for those who couldn't make it. As usual there was a lot of congestion and confusion on the streets downtown. Pair that with some minor misunderstanding of meeting location and the police being very strict this year about entering the march mid-parade (they even zip-tied the barricades together this year!) our start up came quite a bit later than originally planned. But after finding everyone and discreetly jumping the barricade to join with them we set off down 6th avenue: the Mummy Frances, Mike the Cowboy, the Dead Dread Pirate JeLm and Gage as an Allomancer character of his own creation from the Mistborn series (Lord Selanio Tekiel, stay in touch for more info and backstory on this fan made character). A demon on rollerskates, Donald Trump with an entourage of women, Jim carrey's The Mask, a Flasher in a Trench Coat choking his Chicken (literally, he had a rubber chicken), Harry Potter, several drum and percussion crews, Slash, Link and a husband-wife duo dressed as a pair of breasts (left and right, respectively) are just some examples of the parade fare. Check out our instagram #indaze to see more on our story and timeline. So how would I sum up the night? Rather quickly: Frances' Mummy received the most attention out of all of us, The Cowboy without a Name disappeared abruptly, the Allomancer was mistaken for one of the very numerous Steampunk peeps and the Dead Dread Pirate JeLm lost his rum. We ended the night by union square with some analog monitors and draft beer. All in all, it was a very subdued Halloween Day Parade, likely owing to the fact that it was a Monday night, yet nonetheless interesting in all its eccentric glory
