Life in Smokey Blue follows Sakutaro, a 38-year-old man worn down by work and life. The story carries a very particular atmosphere: not dramatic despair, but the heavy blue feeling of someone who has been functioning for too long.
When Kuji, a former colleague, reappears in his life, the relationship does not feel like an instant cure. It feels more like a quiet presence. A person nearby. A space where Sakutaro can be tired without having to turn that tiredness into a performance.
That is what makes the manga linger. It understands that recovery is not always a clean upward line. Sometimes you are in a cocoon phase. Sometimes you are not ready to explain yourself. Sometimes the most important thing is having a place where you can stop pretending you are fine.

hey, i read a BL months ago but i cant remember the name. it was about this main character who worked in tokyo with LGBT weddings, and its based on a true story. the manga even had pictures of the character irl. do you happen to know what is the name?
Oh, isn’t it Tatoeba Konna Koi no Hanashi? I love this one! Also, I totally recommend Hamada Kamome’s other mangas. They’re good stuff.
