Theory about Hajime (ep 8 spoilers)
I’m sorry if anyone said it before because that would mean I missed it, but after rewatching ep 8 for the third time I realized something. I’m sorry it’s long but bear with me, it’s very important.
In present time when Hajime activated her Nihilist minimum because she started to feel despair, this happened.
The beasts were back to being humans. And since the Nihilist minimum “eradicates other minimums” that means that the thing that turned the guys with golden bracelet into beasts was a minimum. Now there are two possibilities:
1) Someone who was part of the researchers had a minimum allowing them to transform those poor kids into beasts.
2) Those kids all had a different minimums but the experiments they went through transformed them into these beasts. Why? Because the researchers probably wanted to experiment all the sides of being a minimum holder and pushed those kids’ minimums as much as they could, which, each time, ended into beast transformation.
Which is why they needed abandoned children for that, since they weren’t ethical experiments at all.
I’m personally more into theory 2, here’s why.
“A factor that wasn’t present before the experiment”. Which is why they called her a “success”. The experiments on Hajime had managed to introduce a new factor, and the other kids who went through all that before her never succeeded at that part, which is probably why they turned into beasts. It makes sense since she’s the first success.
Hajime didn’t turn into a beast because the new factor in her body prevented it.
Now I don’t know what these experiments were exactly about, but they were experiencing on kids who were minimum holders and they were Facultas’ researchers so we can pretty much say for sure that the experiments were about minimums.
The thing that bothered me since ep 8 though, was that Hajime’s Nihilist minimum has nothing to do with the strength minimum that she shows in s1 ep 5 or in the manga, which means that she’s got at least one other minimum besides the Nihilist one, which can be activated when she’s full or eating.
Also, a very important thing that I just noticed today was that Hajime activated a part of her Nihilist minimum in s1 ep 12, as Momoka said. But what happened at the same time? She healed her injured leg!
Her red eyes glimmered, she started activating a part of her nihilist minimum and right at this moment, her leg healed.
Rewatch the beginning of ep 12, it’s right there. (Unfortunately in the flashbacks of ep 8 we can't see her injured right arm at the moment she's activating her minimum.
Which means that either she’s got third minimum about healing, or that her Nihilist minimum has a healing part.
And if her Nihilist minimum has indeed a healing part, that could explain why and how she recovered in the past, and maybe if it can be used on others, maybe that’s how she healed Nice and how he didn’t lose his minimum.
Of course this is only a theory, and I can't guess more because we still don't know many things, like:
- Hajime had amnesia -> WHY? Did they inject her something? Was it because of the shock? Was it her own doing?
- Nice and Hajime did escape and form the Hamatora Detective duo -> At the end the flashbacks in ep 8, Nice is hurt (dead?), Hajime is totally lost in despair, so for the moment they are not going anywhere.
- There is also Art's way of thinking. Art considers that minimums are sins, and he probably wants to use Hajime's minimum in order to erase them all. But if Art IS right, and that minimums truly aren't good for people, because they destroy slowly the holder's body or something like that, then it makes sense for Hajime's Nihilist minimum to have a Healing part, in order to heal her of the damage her minimum would do to her own body (this last point is just a thought).
- Lastly, I don't know what to make of that:
The purple waves are from Hajime's minimum, so we can assume they're near the D-block when escaping. But then this happens.
...Right before the big light appears, countering Hajime's minimum. Was it her doing? I don't think so. Some people think it was Art or Skill acting, and it could be. This is just another mystery to add to the list.
- EDIT: I forgot one thing: something that makes no sense: in ep 8 while looking for her, it looks like Nice remembers very clearly how he met her and how he saved her whereas she has amnesia. The question is: why not tell her her past when he knows all about it? If he kept his mouth shut, then there must be a reason as to why.
I think I'm done. Thoughts?
