Hamburger Hamlet
The first Hamburger Hamlet was opened in 1950 on Sunset Blvd; because of their commitment to quality, flavor and “simply marvelous food and drinks,” it became an immediate success. Hamburger Hamlet quickly became a Hollywood landmark and was packed with celebrities every night of the week. Dean Martin loved the place, and for the last few years of his life, Martin (who lived not far away) would be in there almost every night and it was said that he welcomed fans to just sit down with him and chat.

Burgers LA: Hambuger Hamlet On Sunset Strip Closing
The original Hamburger Hamlet located on the Sunset Strip opened in 1950 and on December 19th, they will be closing its doors for good.
LA Eater has reported that the real estate group, Mani Brothers, who has owned that location for several decades decided to not renew the lease. Reasons for this decision include wanting to increase rent to attract a new kind of restaurant.
If you have not been to this location, do yourself a favor and visit this historical burger joint. There are only two Hamburger Hamlet locations that still remain, the Pasadena location as well as Sherman Oaks.
