I only know one other person I follow who lives in/near atlanta, I do know she’s talked about leaving her house. Also parental issues. Do you need a boost or something?
not just yet, i don't have the resources to actually be able to leave where I am right now but thank you <3
jack said 'luke/abbie/andy backstory' and I couldn't resist
Abbie suffers the slings and torments of fate, both sticks and stones and words flung in her direction. She clings to her sister, her only friend, until that time in the woods and it becomes apparent her sister is not safe either. Her sister believes and the rest of the world taunts and both hurt as deeply because her sister must be wrong.
Has to be wrong.
She lets go of her sister and pushes off and she almost drowns. (She does drown, slipping under over and over and giving in, until Corbin.)
She doesn’t meet Andy until she starts training to be an officer.
Andy is born in Sleepy Hollow, delivered by his father (it isn’t a home deliver his father is, was, actually a doctor) and he grows up there. He goes to public school at first, and then for highs school he goes private.
(It’s a very selective private school. Andy joins the debate team. It’s not really a debate team.)
Abbie hates school, hated public and hated for the private school her foster parents paid for. She hated the private school, the girls and the whispers and the uniforms.
(Andy takes part in several of the school plays at Abbie’s school, an all-girls school recruits for its male roles where it can. Abbie still never meets him.)
Luke attends Sleepy Hollow High and hates it. The football team is awful (he takes them to the playoffs his senior year, the first and last time in two decades) and the teachers are worse. He hates Sleepy Hollow.
He leaves as soon as possible, goes out of state for college, only comes back when his parents have a car accident and his father dies and his mother lies in the hospital. (She recovers.
Also, it wasn’t just a car accident.)
Luke’s already on the police when Andy and Abbie start training.
Abbie and Andy bond over a lot of things. Energy drinks over coffee, Chinese food over pizza, Marvel over DC. Late nights spent studying, early mornings spent running.
Guns.
They don’t bond over their childhood, don’t discuss it, Andy will never speak about the things he has learned, Abbie breathes denial.
They make out now and then, sleep together once, and both agree that they’re better off as friends without benefits.
They’re both rookies on the force when they meet Luke. He takes them ‘under his wing’ which involves a lot more beer and a lot less instruction than one would think. He flirts with Abbie, heavily, flirts with Andy too, in the manner of men who are more straight than not.
Andy sleeps with Luke first. Sort of. Technically. Sloppy, drunken handjobs behind their local dive while Abbie’s on a stake out with the Sherriff (who has also taken Abbie under his wing and balances out his instruction with apple pie). Andy may or may not whisper words of warding when he comes, into the sea salt flavored skin of Luke’s neck.
Luke blows Andy after a date with Abbie that stretched long and ended quick.
Once Abbie and Luke settle into an actual relationship, a spare tooth brush in each apartment and a drawer reserved for Abbie at Luke’s, Andy rarely sees them together. When they both get the time free they spend it together, when it’s just one of them they spend it with him.
(He kisses Abbie about a month before she gets accepted into Quantico. She gives him the saddest, most awkward smile possible. They don’t talk about it.)
Then Quantico strikes. Luke and Abbie break up (amicably, supposedly, but Luke spends two weeks sleeping on Andy’s couch complaining about everything from the couch to Andy’s choice in beer to the gun safe Andy apparently doesn’t ‘hide well enough’) and Andy is warned to prepare.
hamburgerjack replied to your post: “can you please tag your race debate posts with something? :(”:
Wow really?
someone will probably beat 'em over the head with THIS IS PROBABLY WHY YOU SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO THIS SHIT eventually
but i don't want to deal with more questions about it
though there is also the case made that it might be someone who already has to put up with it irl every day and i'm not one to begrudge them for wanting to get away from it online
