- Hammer Station and Other Veteran Flashpoint Learning
- Minimum Requirements

--- No ability knowledge requirement
--- Be willing to listen, learn, try out your character's abilities (flashpoints are for learning and practicing these), follow call outs, and remain quiet during boss pulls/explanations.
--- Be on time or five minutes early
Let me know if interested! Depending on turn out, I might do more of these. I can take up to 15 people for the operations, but only a few for flashpoints unless I have other leaders volunteering.
I will also be open to helping people who wish to learn their classes/roles better along the way. However you must ask for that help or I will not give it and instead focus solely on teaching the operations/flashpoints. Other questions related to SWTOR, but not the current content we are running are also welcome.
Voice Chat on Discord is preferable for ease of call outs and explanations, but will not be required. Joining without talking is fine if that is more comfortable. The Faction and Roles will be decided the day of depending on turn out.
Thanks and Happy Spring!
Rain Plays SWTOR: Hammer Station Solo (Veteran)
Hello again! Today we’re talking about Hammer Station, which was a hard nut for me to crack. Our guide, as usual, is Darth Viri, my main (Sith Juggernaut, Vengeance). She recently switched some of her augments around, on the helpful suggestion of someone on Tumblr, so now she’s even more of a powerhouse. :)
She is accompanied by Lana Beniko (melee companion, healer, influence level 50). With any of the veteran flashpoints the same rules apply:
1. You cannot use the kolto stations at the boss encounters, so know exactly where all of your heal/intercede abilities and Unity are located on your quickbars. Viri also stocks up on the polybiotic med unit (which heals your companion along with you) and gives that a quickbar space. 2. Make sure you have bought the access to the field repair droid on 15 minute cooldown. You’ll need it, and the older flashpoints don’t really have med droids along the route the way the newer ones do. 3. Have credits. Getting killed in veteran flashpoints is expensive. Like 25K-50K expensive, depending on how much you’re hit. Someone who has played SWTOR longer than I have can probably confirm or deny this, but Hammer Station seems like it would have been a very low level flashpoint before level sync. The quest giver droid is on Dromund Kaas, right in the Wall area outside Lord Grathan’s estate. This also appears to be the first time your character meets Darth Malgus, because they have to ask who Malgus is and why they’re being ordered around.
You can also pick this up on the fleet in the Dropship Mission area, which is what I did. Hammer Station has a few cool cinematics.
The difficulty with this flashpoint is just that there are a lot of silver and gold mobs, and if your character gets too many golds on them, they’ll go down. I was not shy about using Heroic Moment with Viri to try to mitigate this, and I tried to avoid being in the same area with two Boarder Suppression Droids if possible.
TBT: Hammer Station full of Consulars
I dunno if T7 likes other AstroMechs flirting with his Jedi
Yeah, i don’t think Teeseven cares for this.
I still can’t beat the final boss in Hammer Station (if anyone has any tips for beating this solo, for the love of the Force, PLEASE SHARE WITH ME. None of the guides are helping. Poor Viri seems to hold her own in the fight until he’s down to 30% or so, and then die. I really, REALLY want the satisfaction of beating this solo. So far Viri has been able to get through Athiss and Red Reaper on her own, and I’d like to make this #3).
But I spotted this sign right outside the final boss room and now I’m intrigued. That’s the Aurebesh for ‘sale.’ This smiley fellow is advertising a sale. In a space station where asteroids hurtle through at fast speeds. Where is the store? Is it a commissary? What do they sell there? What’s on sale? Is this their logo or mascot? Viri would much prefer to go shopping than to continue trying to fight this asshole boss WHO WON’T DIE.
Just a little uplifting
Since I post about bad pugs and idiots a lot, it's good to have something here about the good times.
On my newest lvl 70 assassin (and yes, newest. This is my third... My 9th Inq...), I went for random group finder flashpoint for the daily. Hammer Station popped. *fist pumps* 3 assassins and one sorcerer. We skipped so much and everything just melted. XD People did die a couple times and I almost died myself as I've gotten unused to holding aggro on bosses and the tunnel droid is a pain with no cleansing. Still a super speedy run even with the person who was trying to role play during it. By themselves. So they weren't trying to draw us in like the erper one time who wanted an orgy.... Now that was awkward. Anyways, super speedy run and felt good about my deception DPS cause I pulled off of everyone with the bosses and sometimes even adds just from my opener. ^_^
Next run! My marauder just a couple minutes later. Got an in progress Directive 7. At the last boss and apparently the group had been doing the bonuses. So I get in and get the codex and cxp for one of the bonuses not even a few seconds later. X'D 70 Tank, 50ish healer, another dps I spaced on, and my beautiful near full 246 to 248 mara. Everything melted. It was beautiful. And felt good about my mara DPS as a friend is a mara DPS and I feel like I can't keep up on any DPS compared to them. So that was good to see that I've still got it. XD
Basically, I felt accomplished as a DPS instead of just a healer where even then I sometimes feel like I fail due to dying so easily in the HM ops. So a good night.
Also finally finished trooper. Only took me over a year. X'D Smug is next then legendary! o/
