Women in Mahabharata - Hamsadhvaja's Wife
She is the queen of Champapuri. Her husband likes Krishna very much and captures Yudhishthira's ashvamedha horse in an effort to bait Krishna into appearing and fighting him in the field.
She blesses her son Sudhanva prior to his leaving for the battle, advising him to fight hard enough that Krishna is forced to appear to protect Arjun. She also requests her son to defeat Krishna inthis battle and drag him to her as a present. She specifically tells Sudhanva to target Arjun, since that is the fastest way to get Krishna to appear.
During this, she introduces the fantastic concept that the horse is to be accorded the same respect as Hari-Krishna, and the text hereafter has to make the distinction of whether they are looking for the Hari: two-legged or four-legged.
