with patience and many treats beeps used the hamster tube to go between cages tonight!! He’s gone to the new cage twice, i had to help him back home the first time but the second, he went back and forth on his own. hopefully he’ll remember how it works and be able to explore freely now

Beeps climbed up and out of the smaller cage i’ve been trying to hand tame him in and in an instant had disappeared along the baseboard heater, and I was convinced he had climbed into a little hole in the wall I had never noticed. I blocked up the gaps under the doors just in case and set to trying to lure him out. After a few dreadful minutes of sitting next to the hole in the dark I made a noise that he always reacts to and blessedly I heard him skittering across the floor. He’d been hiding somewhere else entirely. For the next twenty minutes or so I blocked off more and more places but I was so relieved he hadn’t gone off to live (and die) in the walls it was easy to be patient and try to avoid scaring him too much. Finally got him scooped up in his cup and he was pretty jazzed up for a while after being deposited back in his tank, but now he’s relaxed and things are back to usual.

Fate was kind to this timeline. Thank godddddddddd

It’s not finished but I got really excited the running wheels and water bottle came, so I put some bedding in the new tank and then carefully placed his cage in there so when he wakes up he’ll have new room to explore *__*
