36: A thunderstorm is rolling through town and you’re scared of lightening/thunder so I’ll protect you and/or 37: There was a power outage and now we have to have dinner by candlelight with hamburr or the rev set + burr? ;)
“Burr! Burr goddamn it let me in! Burr, if you don’t let me in, I’m gonna cry, do you want me crying outside your dorm room at 2 am-”
The door swung open and Alexander jumped back slightly. Standing in the doorway was one Aaron Burr, scowling and very put off. Alex would have felt bad about waking him up, if not for the deep rumble which sounded from outside in that moment.
“What. Do you want. Hamilton?” he asked through clenched teeth.
“John’s out.” he answered simply, feeling anxiety growing in his chest.
“You woke me up to tell me that?”
“No,” Alex huffed, beginning to question his motives, “I was just wondering-”
Alexander jumped about a foot in the air when the thunder crashed outside. Aaron blinked in surprise, watching as Alex’s shoulders began to shake, and his breathing quickened. Exhaling sharply through his nose, he stepped aside.
Staring dumbly at Aaron, it took Alex a moment to comprehend what he was saying, but when another bout of thunder sounded, he wasted no time racing into the room. Aaron shut the door and turned to face him, hands on his hips.
“What’s this really about, Hamilton?”
“What, do I have to have a reason to visit my best pal, Aaron Burr-”
Lightning filled the room and the lights flickered for a moment, before going out entirely. The sound of rain slamming against the window was all Aaron heard, that is, until he started to hear Alexander.
He could hear quick, ragged breaths from the other side of the room, bordering on soft sobs. As his eyes got used to the darkness, he could make out Alex’s figure, head down and hands up, covering his ears.
Aaron bit his lip, why did he always have to deal with this.
But no matter. He crossed the room, his feet softly thumping on the carpet, before he made it to Hamilton. When he reached him, he paused, allowing Alexander to become conscious of his presence, before he wrapped his arms around the man, pulling him close.
Alex quietened, his face pressing into Aaron’s shoulder.
“What are you doing?” he asked and his voice was quiet. He didn’t move.
They stood like that for a while, Aaron with his arms around Alex as thunder boomed overhead. Slowly, Alexander wrapped his own arms around Aaron and sighed, his body drooping into Aaron’s arms.
“Sorry,” he mumbled, “usually John’s the one who deals with me, but he’s at Laf’s tonight.”
“You don’t have to be sorry, Alexander,” Aaron said quietly, and let his fingers run through Alex’s hair, “It’s alright.”
“You probably think I’m pathetic now, huh?” he laughed, “Look at Hamilton, he’s scared of thunderstorms. Christ.”
“I don’t think that at all.” Aaron leaned back to look at Alexander, “Hamilton, it’s alright, if you don’t want me to say anything, I won’t.”
Alexander smiled lightly, looking at Aaron through his lashes.
“Thanks, Burr.” he said, before leaning back in to rest his cheek on Aaron’s shoulder.
“...I guess I’ll just have to protect you from the big bad storm, eh Hamilton?”
Alexander barked out a laugh, glaring up at Aaron playfully.
“Shut the fuck up, Burr.”
