I am excited to announce that I will be vending in the coming weekends at the @darksomecraftmkt on October 23! My friend @ixdoxdeclare and I will be sharing a booth (that we worked very hard to beautify) and hope to see you there. Along with silver jewelry, one of a kind necklaces, and colored starry halos, I will have a small handful of the Lover’s Embrace belt slide. The slide is cast in resin with embedded silver pigment and is made to slide over a ribbon or existing belt. Would you all appreciate a video of how this works and how I style it? Lover’s Embrace belt slides will be coming with me and @ixdoxdeclare to philly for the @darksomecraftmkt . I will have a very limited amount and these are all ones cast by me in resin with embedded metal. This cold casting process is messy and long, so I’m sorry I was unable to make more for all who have been waiting. Right now I have no idea when they will make it on the web shop. I’ve been trying for a long time to find someone stateside who can cast them in metal for me with little luck. After a bit of a break from this project, I am finally back in progress on the Hand Belt. Hands were sometimes seen clasping each other as a means for a belt clasp in Victorian fashion. I've been slowly growing my own personal collection of all hand related accessories and have been meaning to make a belt for a long time now. When the beautiful Crimson Peak was released, I almost lost it over Edith's belt made from two cupped hands. That moment made me decide to finally plunge into making my own. My version is by no means a replica of her belt clasp- I wanted to do something more realistic. I wanted that slightly unsettling look of real, human hands locked around a waist. Every pore and wrinkle in the skin is there in life size. I am at the point now where I have to decide what sizes to make the clasp- do I keep it life sized, or keep to the more Victorian traditional belts where the hands are very dainty for a thin belt?
